Between a classic perfume and a gourmand
This is how close it is to Léa from Calypso St. Barth, the N°6 from SG79 STHLM. Similarly delicate and similar in its style, with an almond-doll note. Anyone who knows me knows that I simply have a weakness for the tried and tested. And Léa has been one of my favorites for years. And of course Léa is discontinued.
Both have tendencies of Hypnotic Poison, but in a childlike, lovely way. There's nothing wicked about this kind of fragrance. I don't find these fragrances sexy either. It's a hint of Play Doh or, as I call it, a doll note. There are also flowers, vanilla, amber, musk and a little wood. Simple in its presentation. Initially floral, soft and fluffy. Girlish. The base is almost a little more childlike thanks to the vanilla, which has the characteristics of a dessert. A fragrance somewhere between a real perfume and a gourmand. Simply so beautiful. And I think it suits a chicken girl like me.
While Léa focuses primarily on ylang-ylang, SG79 STHLM N°6 is initially dominated by rose. However, a few white flowers soon appear and the beautiful musk-vanilla base sends its first greetings. And very soon, everything blurs so finely into a very soft carpet of fragrance that it becomes difficult to make out individual flowers.
When wearing it, I wavered for a long time between a rating of 9 and 9.5. For me, 9.5 means a candidate for purchase and yes, I ordered SG79 STHLM N°6. In the base, it seems like a delicious milk dessert at times, but the next time I take a breath, it's already perfume again, with a classic tendency despite its sweetness. No ethyl maltol. And like Léa, the fragrance remains close to the body.
I like sweet things, but they have to be subtle. And that's exactly what the Swedish house offers, not just with N°6, but with all the fragrances I've been able to get to know so far thanks to the lovely Ergoproxy. Synthetic, yes, but never in an acrid, unpleasant way. Even with perfumes that contain notes I don't like.
So far, the fragrances have all reminded me of the nineties in terms of their style, as the typical, modern and extremely radiant aroma chemicals have been dispensed with. It takes a few more sprays here, but it's better this way than if the fragrance immediately brings you to your knees. I also find the small sizes of 15 ml very nice and praiseworthy. That's usually enough. Who uses 50 or 100 bottles containing 100 milliliters? Very commendable. A few other companies can take a leaf out of their book. A brand that I can recommend overall, as it is also very attractively priced. Oh, I'm already looking forward to this little treasure. It's guaranteed to be used more often, especially next summer.
