Oh, I know you?
I just got home after what felt like a Monday. The German Post had informed me via email that my Amazon package could not be delivered.
But look, what greets me at my apartment door on the doormat (a heartfelt thanks to my wonderful neighbors!)?
Harmlessly brown packaged, my latest blind buy welcomes me.
Sandago Cappuccino Vanilla, the "cheap scent," whose name lured me into a spontaneous purchase... So, into the apartment and unpacking! Hm, it’s simply packaged, feels a bit awkward in the hand, its contents a golden orange.
Since I don't want to leave the house anymore today, I bravely spray one spritz on my wrist and on my scarf...
First of all: The spray head surprises with a fantastic strong mist!
About the scent: My synapses are screaming. They’re not screaming "I need to get out," but "DUPE, DUPE, I knooow you!"
YSL Black Opium. You have a gentle twin without the flashy designer outfit, the little Cinderella sister. A hidden beauty peeking out from the dark corners of the great World Wide Web.
I’m trying to sort my first impressions, but these are almost identical in sillage and development in the first minutes for my (newbie) nose to the pink-black bestseller.
I’m wavering between amusement (shopped blindly in the same direction again), enthusiasm (whoohoo, a DUPE!) and disappointment (what am I supposed to do with 2 such huge bottles??). While I’m now sniffing my hand and scarf, I convince myself after 20 minutes that Cappuccino Vanilla is a bit milder, creamier with a hint less jasmine. Here too, the coffee initially makes a small "hello," but quickly gives way to the jasmine and vanilla. I don’t recognize the pear, a hint of licorice without any scratchiness ties everything together nicely, the leather remains hidden from me (am I perhaps desensitized to this note from being in the riding stable?).
Tomorrow it will be inaugurated in the small office; I hope it won’t offend my colleagues!
Overall, it seems to be an alternative for the small wallet if you feel perfectly at home in the gourmand mainstream of designers (this is not meant negatively, I love it!) or want to sniff in this direction once.
In this sense: a Black-Vanilla-Cappuccino-Opium cuddle evening to you all!
