I’ve learned that lily of the valley can only be created synthetically for fragrance. But I can't stand either the synthetic or the real scent of lily of the valley flowers. They both smell equally bad to me. Strange, right?

Yes, that's true. They don't just release their scent easily into the steam... I prefer them to be incorporated as just a minimal sprinkle in the fragrance. They can play a part... But on their own, my nose eventually gets tired of them...
