If pretty had a name, it would be Mughetto
Lily of the Valley is a flower dear to my heart, it was the favorite of an aunt that isn’t no longer with us, and forever will remind me of her. She had gifted me a plant of Lily of the Valley; and I was sniffing them when they bloom, their scent is so pretty and iconic, I knew I had to search for a Lily of the Valley scent and my choice was this from Santa Maria Novella. This brand makes fragrance so beautiful it’s hard to keep up. Mughetto is exactly like a Lily of the Valley scent, but it’s also pretty and dainty with a touch of powder somewhere. This is something I could imagine a Jane Austen character wearing (well, like several perfumes from the brand). Absolutely adore this!

Finest cozy soap foam. And Coralie's grandmother was definitely British.
Lily of the valley. I couldn't stand it for a long time. I found its scent somewhat penetrating. I always smelled something like wall paint when testing a lily of the valley perfume. I associated the scent with something artificial, ugly. But since I got to know and own Coralie from Ikiryō, everything has changed.

I love this wonderful, almost a tiny bit dirty soap foam scent of lily of the valley. And which house does it best as a soliflore, if not Santa Maria Novella? Oh yes! Anyone looking for a beautiful, authentic, and wonderfully cozy soft lily of the valley scent should indulge in Santa Maria Novella Mughetto. For me, it epitomizes a bubble bath fragrance. So comforting, so relaxing, so clean, so beautiful. And yet there is a tiny bit of dirt that continually greets and can never be completely washed away. Jasmine is present here as well, just like in Coralie. And a very delicate indole, which never really comes off as dirty, cannot be denied here either.

Mughetto could be the grandmother of my dearly beloved Coralie. They are certainly related. Both are dominated by lily of the valley and jasmine. Both have a delicate sweetness. In Mughetto, it's benzoin, while in Coralie, it's Ikiryō's dirty musk, which always brings a bit of sweetness along. Mughetto always appears very classic and pure, while Coralie interprets the theme a bit more modern.

Even though this is a thoroughly Italian cologne, Mughetto mentally transports me to Great Britain. I see green meadows, many sheep, and young women frolicking through the blooming landscape. They unmistakably smell of Mughetto. Soapy, clean, and at first glance pure and innocent. But they have a lot of mischief behind their ears.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. The house of Santa Maria Novella has once again convinced me.

Many thanks to Gandix for the opportunity to test.

Wonderful spring-like lily of the valley scent
with a creamy start
becomes powdery
but the subtle lily of the valley remains.

Lily of the valley framed by fruity hesperidic notes, soapy green accents, and bright jasmine (without indole): if you like that, you'll love this.

A really beautiful lily of the valley scent with a fine soapy tone and a pleasantly green freshness.
It works anytime, if you like that.

Bright, delicate, cool-watered
A pretty lily of the valley
born from subtle jasmine
and a discreet creamy-soapy bitterness.

Hesperides bring lily of the valley to the surface. This remains a soliflore. Benzoin is hardly noticeable, probably just minimal as a fixative.

Starts as a sweet, pleasantly light, non-aggressive lily of the valley, but ends up back in the soap dish.
Missed opportunity.

Very clean & purist lily of the valley scent, without greenery & indole, highlighted by the typical soapiness of SMN. Fantastic perfume!

Creamy, natural lily of the valley with fresh green aspects. Citrus is minimally sharp, but benzoin provides coziness.
