Bring Me Edelweiss
Saponificio Varesino is actually an Italian soap manufacturer from Brebba on Lake Maggiore. Although the company was founded in 1945 and does not necessarily belong to the old traditional soap manufacturers, it mainly works according to the Marseille method. In addition to washing soap, toilet soap, flake soap and industrial soap, shaving soaps and After Shave Balms are also offered.
Stella Alpina is one of them, which really pampers shaved skin super softly and without burning with numerous natural ingredients. Among them is the eponymous Stella Alpina, the well-known Edelweiss whose extract from the leaves with a high content of antioxidants is particularly moisturizing. I assume that the Leontopodium Alpinum (so the botanical name) is cultivated agriculturally and is not picked by courageous mountaineers forbidden by any rock ledges risky enough.
In addition and also a little fragrant almond, camomile, aloe and lavender can be found here. The result is an olfactory mix of floral, minimal herbaceous and creamy notes, including a few citric splashes. Maybe not very sexy, if not a bit bland - but quite pleasant and sympathetic.
This reminds me a little of Braukmann Classic, only in this case much more supple due to the oily substance. Particularly suitable when the 7-day beard has to be trimmed properly again.
