Shaki-Rah, Shaki-Rah
The Colombian beauty Shakira caught my attention in 2001, like most of us, when she released the megahit "Whenever, Wherever" from her first English-language album. "Laundry Service" played on repeat in my room. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the following albums as much. Maybe it was the vibe, my age, the time... I only liked a few songs. When Shakira started to "return" to her mother tongue, I lost interest for a while. I believe music has its own language through melody, rhythm, and sound. It is something emotional. Therefore, the actual sung language is not that important. But something happens in my head when I can't follow the lyrics at all in terms of tempo or at least understand what it could be roughly about. It somehow disrupts my flow.
I was quite surprised when I discovered her numerous perfume releases on my personal fragrance journey. I initially decided to explore the "Dance" line. And why? Just look at this wonderful bottle! I love bottles that fit well in the hand. And these curves are simply breathtaking. I accidentally ordered the 80ml version of this bottle, even though I only wanted 50ml. When unpacking, I was more surprised by the size than annoyed. Definitely one of the few bottles that could remain as decor after the perfume is used up. I just wish it had a nice cap. A clip would be fine with me - maybe with a fancy Boho coin attached.
The scent itself I would describe as creamy, floral, light, and sweet. It is nice. It is pleasant. But nothing more. The longevity and sillage are unfortunately not that good.
Would I buy it again? No. Do I regret the purchase? Nope. When you buy a celebrity fragrance for "little money," you know what you're getting. Right?
