I was a bit put off by the repeated statement that the scent is rather on the masculine side. I myself am very sensitive when it comes to bitter notes or when aftershave vibes hit my nose. However, I do not perceive this scent as "masculine" at all. Sure, the beginning is a bit angular and rough, but very soon the fog clears and warm sunbeams break through: The scent becomes thick and creamy like a rich almond pudding cream, which is quite similar to confetto, but MdS is definitely less piercing and denser in its consistency. I have both under my nose for comparison. MdS is softer, rounder, warmer, perhaps less spicy and a bit more bitter, but not less sweet, with a touch more smokiness. No licorice, no anise, but powdered sugar. It’s just fluffier. Hypnotic Poison, with which it is often compared, is completely different, because after a few minutes it just smells musty. It is no longer like it used to be. But: MdS does remind me of an old version of this scent, when it was not yet diluted. In short and sweet: MdS is a roll-your-eyes fragrance that warms the heart. It is slightly almondy, sweet, thick, and really nice and creamy without being sticky. It smells a bit like modeling clay and I liiiiiive for that note. However, it does not tip into a plastic note, but remains wonderfully doughy and almondy. YUM!
