Mandorla del Sud, a relatively unknown fragrance from the house of Simone Andreoli. It's a shame, really, because this scent is particularly lovely to wear on slightly cooler days. Here we have a lightly powdery, spicy gourmand that possesses a wonderful sweetness. However, the sweetness is never too heavy or overwhelming.
The fragrance opens with a truly beautiful almond aroma. Slightly nutty, almost marzipan-like, and simply delicious. The powdered sugar note immediately envelops the almonds, providing that certain sweetness from the very beginning.
Admittedly, not much more happens in my opinion.
I find that Mandorla del Sud brings a slightly spicy facet and this amber-vanilla blend becomes more prominent. There isn't more than that, but is that a bad thing?
Not at all! For me, it is often nice not to have huge scent developments.
For some, this might be a tad too boring. Some may find it lacks that certain something. At first, when I wore it for the first time, I was a bit unsure.
The next time, it was already much better, and you simply feel comfortable with the fragrance.
I also find the longevity and sillage completely acceptable.
The scent lasts about eight hours on my skin. The projection is moderate. Not too much, not too little. Often, Andreoli fragrances are "loud" and really present.
Mandorla del Sud is more of a pleasant "companion".
