Smoky-resinous start
Cinnamon vanilla & slightly metallic notes
Roaring fireplace over old oak floorboards
I get slight Baque associations…

Could it be that a house's DNA runs through all its fragrances? At least the resinous, dense one?

Definitely yes, you could recognize a Slumberhouse without knowing what you're smelling.

I need to take a closer look at Slumberhouse; unfortunately, it's always very hard to get. It sounds really nice.

I've noticed here and there that I perceive some fragrances a bit differently when I can test them from a bottle instead of a sample.

Original addition to my first statement:
… however, it has a smoky note. The association is also only brief.
Overall, this is a scent that probably has a reputation that precedes it, creating high expectations. But I find it just average. A bit of smoke, a bit of resin, a bit of vanilla, and a bit of wood.
Good sillage, mediocre longevity.
However, this is the batch that Josh Lobb was unhappy with and then gave away for free with other orders. I can't say how the flask version smells. Maybe it's much better 🤷🏽‍♂️
However, I must now retract my original statement, as I've been enlightened and there is a significant difference between testing the sample and wearing from a bottle (at least for me) ...

Here is an (unofficial) list of notes that Josh Lobb mentioned at some point, but there’s no source for it anymore:
These are the only notes/ingredients he shared:
hydrocarboresin, dynamone, ambrain, ambranum, ambrarome, rum CO2, red mandarin, benzoin, spices, vanilla, aged coffee resin, and other undisclosed ingredients.

Update: I need to correct my thoughts on this fragrance. I've managed to get a bottle, and with a stronger application, I experience a completely different scent compared to the sample.
I've revised my original rating from 7/10 to 9/10.
Overall, the scent impression remains quite similar to what I described before, but I do notice a slightly metallic note at first. However, I now perceive it as much more complex, with something new to discover every time.
An absolutely wonderful fragrance from the house.
