Unexpected depth and versatility

I saw Sofia promoting her fragrance aaages ago on Jimmy Fallon, and I was curious and decided to see what was in it - Plum, vanilla, woods, orchid.. Oh, this actually looks good! (Sofia also happens to be a celebrity whose fragrance I wouldn't be embarrassed having on my dresser... so, I thought, what they hey.. and bought a bottle.)

It's rather unlike other celebrity fragrances - it isn't too fruity, too floral, too woody, or too... anything. It's a well-balanced mix that's deep, intriguing, feminine. It really is suitable for any age group, and it seems suitable to wear any time of the day or for any occasion.

Generic and common, I'm sad to report.

Well, it's pleasant enough, but nothing groundbreaking. It's a fruity, sweet perfume just like many others on the market, and frankly, I'm disappointed. This is not a perfume I would imagine Sofia Vergara wearing. She is a sultry, voluptuous 45-year-old woman, and I can not imagine her wearing the same perfume as a 25-year-old. I can imagine her wearing Organza Indecence, or All Good Scents Lolette, or even L'Air du Temps, but fruity and sweet?! No.

It's very bright and fruity at the beginning. I sprayed two squirts to the back of my neck/hair, one to my chest, and once on each forearm and got a bit overwhelmed. A half an hour to an hour later, it had calmed down considerably, and the orchid began to peek through. I didn't get a lot of rose or violet; the orchid and fruits reign on my skin.

Now it's about three hours later, and it has become a skin-scent. It's still a bit fruity and orchid, but it is also earthy and woody with a touch of sandalwood. I don't think it's going to last all day; reapplication of this one is a must.

The bottle is nice and somewhat heavy. I got mine at Walmart for $15 for 1 oz, which seemed like a good price, so I bought it. I probably won't wear it very often because it's just too generic and middle-of-the-road for my tastes. I like my perfumes a bit more interesting. That being said, this would be a great gift choice--safe, easy, inoffensive. The bottle and packaging are beautiful, and the sweet fruitiness and light florals will please many people. It's a fairly safe choice for daytime office wear and teachers. It's probably great all year-round, except maybe in the extreme cold of winter.

I like the scent well enough, but it doesn't amaze me. I do like the inclusion of plants native to her home country--that's a nice and personalized touch. But I have to give it a 4.5 out of 10 overall for lack of creativity. Maybe her subsequent offerings are better?

The praise for this perfume is well placed, it's well done. Original? No but who cares? You can not tell that this is a celebrity fragrance, neither by smell or longevity because both are great. A Chanel Coco Mademoiselle dupe? You betchya! It smells nearly identical to me. Chanel's offering is stronger at initial blast but both dry down to a smell that is reminiscent of one another. I love Coco Mademoiselle so it goes without saying that I also love Sofia. The Chanel might smell a bit more expensive with it's high quality signature stamp but Sofia is no slouch, especially for the price point. A 3.4 FL. OZ. bottle of Coco costs a hefty 135 dollars. I bought my 3.4 FL. OZ. bottle of Sofia for less than 30 dollars and it came with a rollerball mini and body lotion. Sometimes you just want luxury and sometimes you would rather pay rent and eat so being able to get your hands on a perfume that closely resembles a much more expensive, designer perfume is a nice option.

Unfortunately, Sofia is becoming harder to find, practically sold out everywhere now that everyone knows what an affordable choice it is.

I'm also going to mention the bottle because it's very pretty in its own right. Maybe not quite as lovely and classic as the Coco bottle but for a 105+ dollars savings, I'm not going to split hairs. If you love Coco Mademoiselle like I do, do yourself and your wallet a favour and grab a bottle of Sofia while you still can, you won't regret it!

Let's Go!

I became aware of the scent through a lovely perfume!
Sofia Vergara is a beautiful, wonderful woman; I really like her in the American series Modern Family!

Sofía really lifts your spirits!
The fragrance starts for me without the top note; I can only faintly smell the fruits!
I smell a strong orchid and a somewhat bold violet shortly after spraying. However, after 10 minutes, it transforms into a beautifully soft scent; I couldn't identify the woods individually, but the vanilla is mild, gentle, and not synthetically scratchy like others. I can only catch a whiff of sandalwood as a mild interlude, if at all. The fragrance becomes sweet at the end, not overpoweringly sticky but rounded and creamy in combination with the vanilla, slightly powdery-really beautiful!
Spray it on, get ready for the girls' night out, let's go! Vámonos!!

The only thing I find a bit lacking is the longevity; after four hours, there was almost nothing left to smell on my skin.
A casual little fragrance, not conspicuous, not loud. For me, it's a year-round scent; I can imagine it even in summer despite the floral richness.

Fragrance of Pleasing

In my opinion, Sofia has created a very solid, non-intrusive, and pleasing fragrance here, which is perfect for the office, for example (where you don't want to overwhelm anyone with your scent).
It starts for my nose with a plummy and sweet freshness, which then transitions into a warm, vanillic woodiness. Overall, a lovely fragrance for any season. In my fragrance collection, it's the one I reach for when I'm not in the mood for heavy and opulent scents. I can also very much relate to the association with CM and LVEB.
