Bruno Jovanovic grew up in Paris and developed an early enthusiasm for fragrances and scents of all kinds. He particularly remembers his mother's perfume, which always made him feel that she was close by.
During his school days at the prestigious Lycée Condorcet in Paris, Jovanovic deepened his interest in perfumery. Despite his classes, he was often drawn to the perfume department of a nearby department store to collect new scent impressions.
After graduating in physics and chemistry from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, he enrolled at the renowned French perfumery school ISIPCA, graduating with honors. Jovanovic then moved to New York, where he joined the US fragrance and flavor manufacturer IFF.
Over a period of two decades, Jovanovic gained extensive professional experience while constantly moving between Paris and New York, creating several fragrances that achieved worldwide fame, including for brands such as Hugo Boss, Rabanne, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, and Giorgio Armani.
Today, Jovanovic lives back in his hometown of Paris and, since 2021, has been working as a senior perfumer for Firmenich, a family-owned company founded in Geneva in 1895.
Jovanovic finds intellectual and creative inspiration in the works of artists and philosophers. He searches for the essential, deconstructs and simplifies. He is also interested in the effect of time on the maturation of the raw materials used in traditional perfumery.
Some of the most famous perfumes Jovanovic has created during his career include: The Scent for Him, Opus XII - Rose Incense, and the fragrance Monsieur, which was released in 2016. He has also been involved in the development of fragrances such as My Way, Coach for Men, and Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch, which he created in 2002 together with Christophe Laudamiel and Carlos Benaïm.
