This Is the Way
"I swear on my name and the names of the ancestors that I shall walk the Way of the Mand'alor, and the words of the Creed shall be forever forged in my heart."

Traditional. That's the first world that I think in order to describe Din Djarin, and it was also the first word that came into my mind when getting the first whiffs of Star Wars Mandalorian EDT. So yes, definitely a Din Djarin vibes perfume! It's also classy, fresh and easy to wear.

Kalevala is the first planet of the Mandalore system that comes into my mind when smelling this fragrance. Beautiful but with a melancholic touch of solitude. Chilly ocean breeze, mineral rocks, sharp green seaside vegetation. I can definitely smell calone even though it isn't listed in the note pyramid.

After a couple of hours in the later drydown the lavender note starts to bloom, giving a little bit metallic earthy touch to the composition and also emphasizes the saltier facets of the fragrance. In that phase the smell gets a bit more futuristic or even apocalyptic. I associate it with Bo-Katan's journey with Grogu from Kalevala to Mandalore. She breathes the metallic dusty air of her former realm for the first time after the big devastation. And after helping Din Djarin she enters the inner Mines of Mandalore, catches some traces of the aquatic breeze again, ends up diving into the dark depths of Living Waters and finally sees the Mythosaur. And after that Bo-Katan, probably unconsciously, doesn't remove her helmet for a long time. So the way how the lavender note is made metallic, salty and earthy here represents clearly the essence of beskar, the almost unbreakable Mandalorian steel. It gives a brilliant edge to this fragrance that would otherwise be seen probably even too traditional or crowd pleasing.

Of course I blind bought this perfume based solely on the super cool beskar helmet bottle, and probably 99 % of us Star Wars geeks do the same. In my opinion the bottle looks in real life exactly as cool as in the pictures, it's definitely awesome. But for its ridiculously cheap price I think also the actual fragrance is worth it for sure. It might not be the most original scent in the world but it surrounds you with a beautiful personal intimate scent bubble for several hours and feels very refreshing and uplifting. I think it's quite versatile and suits many different occasions and weathers. A great enjoyable everyday fragrance which might even surprise you with its little wonderful mystic twist after the drydown.

"This is the way."
