The 2022 Generation probably can't even open a door anymore!
Hello dear ones and welcome to another fragrance commentary from me! Today I will describe the scent "2022 Generation Woman" from the great brand Stéphane Humbert Lucas, which unfortunately belongs to the more expensive perfume houses, but at least offers not just a few, but rather many very good fragrances.
2022 Generation Woman (sometimes referred to as "Generation Femme for Woman") is one of those very pleasant fragrances, even though I find the name itself totally silly. I don't know why the scent was specifically dated to the year 2022 (by the way, there is also a men's fragrance of this), but perhaps it is simply the fantasy and imagination of the perfumer about how women might smell in 10 years (based on the release date of this fragrance, which is 2013). Or what they might be doing...
Well, it's not far to 2022. We will see how the (young) generation will be then. One thing you can believe me: The next generation will surely be much better with technology, but probably won't be able to use even the simplest analog or mechanical things like door handles anymore :D But maybe more on that later, for now let's focus on the scent, which is really wonderfully done!
**The Scent:** The fragrance starts fresh with green notes and soon becomes a bit sweeter. The green notes must come from the galbanum. After that, I first smell the heliotrope with its almond-floral scent, where the almond note is even further enhanced by the almonds and occasionally comes across like bitter almonds, although everything smells really great. I can't smell the white tea mentioned, unfortunately... instead, I smell more of a rice pudding-like note... well, at least temporarily, but this is quite nice and even fits with the almonds without making the scent heavier. A little later, you can still best smell the almonds and heliotrope, and still a bit of galbanum, although this is now receding further into the background. In the end, the tonka bean comes more and more to the fore, making the fragrance even sweeter, even though the tonka bean remains rather weak overall. All in all, a beautiful, sweet-soft fragrance that, while not offering much variety, smells very nice throughout.
**The Sillage and Longevity:** The sillage is quite good. You are enveloped in a larger scent cloud that can be perceived very well, but the fragrance never comes across as intrusive due to its softness. The longevity is also quite good, lasting over ten or twelve hours. It may even be that the scent can still be faintly smelled on the skin the next morning.
**The Bottle:** The bottle is rectangular and, in contrast to the golden bottles, is kept in white, which is still of high quality. Because aside from the golden lettering and the elaborate logo, the massive and quite heavy cap is also used here, which has also been gilded and features a beautiful honeycomb pattern. All in all, a very nice bottle, even though I personally prefer the other golden bottles a bit more.
So,... that was 2022 Generation Woman, and you have probably already noticed that I found the scent quite wonderful. All in all, it is not extraordinarily different and does not offer much variety. However, it is already difficult nowadays to discover extraordinary new scents that also smell good. This one smells of wonderful almonds, sweet notes, and is essentially an all-rounder, but tends to be more suited for autumn, winter, and even spring. Well, all seasons except summer, really. In small doses, it could be worn during the day, but in my opinion, it fits much better for going out. I would definitely recommend trying the scent!
So... what about the 2022 generation? Well, even today, there is a rather poor opinion of the new, young generation. It is said that they, as described in the introduction, are hardly capable of handling certain simple tasks (of course, this does not apply to everyone, but perhaps to most... I really can't remember teenagers being so extremely brainless :D Or even young adults!! :DD). It won't be long before the new generation will watch even more YouTube videos than today. After all, they will need to search for many, many YouTube tutorials, for example with titles like "How to open a classic door without apps?" or "How do you shop in a supermarket and pay with cash?" Tss, sad sad :D
I love technology, very much. I like everything that is new and I also find it great when I can control many devices with my PC or phone, but all of this is not the whole world. Technology is a great tool, but I do not become dependent on it, especially when it comes to "basic knowledge in all areas of life," instead of becoming lazier and programming my fridge to automatically reorder milk so I don't have to get off my butt to go to the supermarket or something :D
Well, let's wait and see what the year 2022 will look like. The young generation may be silly, but we have already survived many catastrophic foolishness of humanity, such as the global fear of the year 2000 problem or the end of the world, once again, back on December 21, 2012 (oh man, the Mayans would have laughed their heads off if they had still existed! :DD) and I think we will survive some more incredibly stupid events! Well, we will see :D
Well, I wish you all a great evening, see you next time, take care! :)
The rice pudding-almond theme sounds Asian to me... I’ll have to program... uh, try it ;-) or something like that - apparently, the perfume was discontinued before 2022...
Here’s the background for the name of the fragrance: “Although launched in 2013, this wonderful fragrance presages the stupendous celebrations that will accompany the 2022 World Cup to be hosted in the State of Qatar. It should be an amazing event, done, of course, in the inimitable Qatari style, and thus Stéphane Humbert Lucas thought to launch a fragrance every bit as sumptuous and as special as the event itself is anticipated to be.”
