Powder Puff or rather my beloved "Arabic Milk Pudding"?
With the fragrances of Stéphane Humbert Lucas, I am still a "greenhorn": I am fully on a discovery journey!
Fortunately, the lovely Sweetsmell generously sent me samples of these wonderful scents, so I can test them more than once and reflect on what I have discovered.
After the very first spray, I think: "Hello, I know you!"
"2022 Generation Woman" is as familiar to me as my own skin. And we have been living together for some time now. How can that be?
But of course, the search begins: in which direction does this recognition go?
A statement holds the key: "Shalimar"! Thank you for that!
Yes, this scent strongly reminds me of Guerlain's "Shalimar" during the initial phase of our acquaintance!
Even the little scent devil residing in my nose nods enthusiastically: recognized!
So "Shalimar" or the diet version of this wonderfully familiar scent: "Fleur Oriental" by Miller Harris.
For now, I find something wonderfully familiar, but nothing new.
Next, however, my extremely beloved "Arabic Milk Pudding" appears before my "nose eye".
If I replace the familiar vanilla pod with the exceedingly vanilla-like scent of heliotrope, rose water, and a drop of rose oil with jasmine (in the most beautiful perfection) - oh, yes! That has something!
Especially a large portion of finely grated almonds would give this delicacy a very special refinement!
Of course, "2022 Generation Woman" has more to offer than just my personal memories.
For example, neroli shows once again why we don't quite harmonize: we rub a bit against each other. The fruity nectarine can't change that. It can only neutralize a little.
Galbanum brings a slightly resinous, very welcome spiciness; the delicate, yet aromatic white tea is a wonderful addition.
So far, this scent reveals itself as very light and white.
But suddenly it becomes very, very powdery! Is it the tonka bean that swings the powder puff here?
Whatever it is: I am very happy when a nice portion of sandalwood finally makes its presence known.
Those who know me, know that I have a special fondness for this very unique scent.
Thus, sandalwood also gives this powdery-fluffy fragrance composition a strengthening base.
Until now, I felt completely surrounded by a floating soft cloud that drifts apart and has no contour at all.
For me, Stéphane Humbert Lucas' "2022 Generation Woman" is a fine scent for cooler days.
It reminds me of a soft, light creamy-white wool dress that warmly envelops me.
Or of one of those feather-light jackets, conjured from a true nothing.
Both warm and flatter, while not losing their own lightness.
"2022 Generation Woman's" longevity is truly above average; even after hours, this white fluff surrounds me. Although here too, the nectarine tends to "tip over"; it seems to ferment a little over time.
The bottle, as always in this series, is a true gem.
It is a very interesting, vibrant experience getting to know "2022 Generation Woman".
But with all the delicacy and lightness, all the friendliness of this fragrance composition: I will definitely stick with my beloved "Shalimar".
That has a bit more fragrant "bite", a bit more personality!
I was really pleased to get to know this wonderful scent dream, to spend time with it.
But this experience also shows me that it is nothing surprisingly new for me.
For any woman for whom "Shalimar" is too heavy, this new generation would surely be a beautiful alternative.
In any case, I would like to thank my dear Sweetsmell very much for allowing me this fragrance excursion.
Of course! :) ... the SHL fragrances are really something special. I find no similarity to Shalimar ... but it is a powdery oriental for me as well. So I would lean more towards powder puff than milk pudding :)
