beautiful woody scent with some reservations
Black Gemstone clearly ranks behind Au Coeur du Désert and № 02 - L'Air du Désert Marocain. The fragrance direction is similar: warm-woody, smoky, and dry. At the beginning, there is also a medicinal note added (somewhat like toilet spray?!) which irritated me. (Oud?) There is also a fragrance development: over time, a dry wood note becomes increasingly noticeable, and it also turns berry-like and leathery. A hint of licorice accompanies the scent throughout. I find the perfume a bit too sweet; the teak wood note may not appeal to everyone as it is very prominent. Due to the overly sweet note, I believe the scent cannot compete with its rivals.
