Congruent...or Dior's Dry Oil

Out of pure desperation, I bought this bottle. Dior Homme was "gone" after 45 minutes... okay, I added a bit more... DHI was "gone" after an hour... on the first day, one spray was enough for almost an entire day. DHI was only used every few weeks... so no adaptation or habituation was possible. Even the new Bentley didn't last longer than 2.5 hours for me... at least that was clear from the start @sarcasmoff @

Then I read here that Dry Oil is supposed to be a twin of the two Diors... so I took my last chance before I had to commit olfactory suicide via Duro or Montale (hellish longevity).

What can I say... Dry Oil is truly a scent twin to the two aforementioned fragrances... I can't detect a single difference. Immediately, there's the wonderful powdery note, the famous lipstick accord... the liqueur-like aspect... I simply love this fragrance direction... even if the overly masculine critics immediately come out of their holes. I don't need a fragrance to support or simulate my masculinity... rather, I think if my masculinity is slightly underdeveloped, then one definitely needs a very masculine perfume (@hobby-psychology-course-finished@).

Dry Oil is the crossover of DH and DHI... meaning it has the initial freshness of DH and the powdery sweetness of DHI... only that for me (caution special case!!!) the freshness remains throughout the entire scent development, albeit subtly in the background... but definitely perceptible. Dry Oil lasts about 5 hours on me (wow, new record!)... I can definitely live with that... DHI still has a bit more to offer for "normal" noses... but for now, I'm satisfied and "saved";-) The long-term test will show if there are any fine differences. With Aventus and Tierra del fuego, I also only noticed more differences after months of continuous use... at first, they smelled 95% the same to me... here it's 100%. 100ml for currently €46 at amaz..... is also a significant pro for Dry Oil... even if it is supposedly being discontinued.

The Dior bottles are significantly more beautiful and elegant... Dry Oil is more for moped rockers and/or Wolfgang Petry fans... see lucky bands... but the vintage metal look has its charm too. Clear recommendation to buy!
