This is a definite no-go!
Aura let me down and I wish - really wish - I could say otherwise because I really fell in love with the bottle and the notes. But for the fragrance itself: Only two notes are prominent on my skin... Strong Musk and syrupy Litchi. Both of them are of the low quality kind. I've sprayed this on myself and so did two other friends of mine, who scrubbed it off right away just like I did. The bottle and marketing is exquisite but I wonder how many people would actually buy the juice inside if it was sold in a cheap discount store and in a nondescript unlabeled bottle. Even though I'm a lover of tropical/fruity/sweet notes, it just didn't work for me. I'm glad that it worked for some people though.

Nondescript Fruity Floral
The first two times I tested Swarovski Aura, I didn't like it. I didn't give it much of a chance, and wrote it off based on the fruity top notes alone. Last week I convinced myself to test it again.

The top notes will never change for me. I find the opening loud, cheap and far too fruity for my personal tastes. It smelt fairly common and predictable for the first ten or so minutes. Fortunately, Swarovski Aura does improve throughout its development.

I do enjoy the sweet and powdery heart of pink rose and tuberose. The scent does soften ever so slightly, becoming more feminine and inoffensive in the process. It's not a particularly outstanding fragrance, but pleasant nonetheless.

The pink pepper note really drives the composition, even during the ambery drydown. In some instances, it reminds me of Lancome's Hypnose Senses, Gucci's Envy Me and Dolce & Gabbana's L'eau The One. If you enjoy either of those fragrances, then I do recommend testing Swarovski Aura.

My boyfriend bought me a beautiful white gold, Swarovski crystal ring for Christmas, and I've been admiring it ever since. I was hoping that Swarovski's debut fragrance would be just as captivating, but unfortunately it was not.

Escada Summer in a Silver Coat
I avoided the women's section in perfume stores for a long time, for one simple reason - women's fragrances are not for men. But I threw this baseless attitude overboard some time ago - because if women choose Le Male, One Million for men, and Fahrenheit, why not the other way around!?

Just recently, I caught a lady - I would guess she was in her early 60s. She was spraying herself from head to toe with Eau Savage by Dior...

After I managed to close my jaw and my colleague pulled me out of the moment between "astonishment and surprise" with the words, "hey, men's fragrances are not just for men!"

Where she is right, she is right - just because it says Pour Homme, Male, Man/Men, or Lui on it, doesn't necessarily mean it has to smell "masculine"...but I'm digressing...well, I defied this initial attitude by testing and evaluating women's fragrances from then on. Here and there, I sprayed some women's scents on test strips and simply enjoyed the "aura" and the associated thoughts.

I must admit, I even sprayed Chanel Chance and Kingdom by Alexander McQueen on my neck and cheek in everyday life and felt absolutely "masculine," even though the two fragrances mentioned here do not smell masculine at all and are not found in the men's section.

I realize I'm beating around the bush again ;)

Eager to try the new and thus first women's fragrance from the Austrian crystal manufacturer, I strutted into the women's section today...there it was, the slender bottle protected by an iron coat.
Atop it sits a Swarovski crystal - who would have expected otherwise? The whole thing looks massive, albeit a bit too playful.

It feels great, but I would be afraid it would slip from my hands with this smooth surface. Once that doubt passed, my handling faced a new obstacle, where do I press or where does the pink liquid come out? Aaaaah, pull was the motto - similar to Calvin Klein's Contradiction, the cap is also the covering of the (almost complete) bottle.

Spray, spray...first impression disappointing...it smells like every sugary summer variant from Escada. I believe this has already been mentioned in the forum.
After this fruit bomb dissipated, the second disappointment came...I know this smell...it smells like the...I don't want to come to that...let's just say, the clumsy mainstream from the last two/three years is found here. Not even pepper can save it! The finish is rounded off with a certain "hairspray" note.

Overall, pure disappointment, even though I would put the bottle on my shelf...I wouldn't wear Aura, even if it stood among all the Hommes & Mens ;)

Outside nice, inside.....
...and indeed quite a lot of yuck.

But let's first approach the outfit of Aura. The pink design seems to be in right now, and not only does the packaging remind me of Womanity. The bottle itself appeals to me at first glance. Noble, straightforward, modern, elegant with a bit of sparkle. Now, a grab for the tester first brings confusion. That the cap almost encompasses the entire bottle was clear to me, and the reference to Contradiction is justified. But this piece is round and has a very slanted surface. Simply placing it down doesn't work, as the cap falls over since the center of gravity is outside the base area. Laying it down only works if the surface is completely flat and horizontal; otherwise, it rolls away, and even if our glass shelves seem level, they probably aren't. I obviously still have a good reaction and just managed to catch the piece. So one should always have a level handy!

Then it was time for the real deal; the visual impression promises me a delicate-floral-fresh scent. And what do I smell?? Sweet-sour pee!! After I did this test in the store, I initially attributed this strange and repulsive note to my overloaded nose. I always test fragrances for commissions again at home. So I put the piece back on the shelf for now. Then a colleague comes along and her verdict: Phew, it smells like urine with flowers!

Based on the pyramid, I hold the mixture of lychee and tuberose responsible for this; I wouldn't know where else this strange note could come from, but even over time, the scent doesn't get any better for me. I would like to add that "natural" notes generally don't bother me; on the contrary. I have no problem with civet, for example, when it is an intense, balanced fragrance in which the note is harmoniously integrated, but here there isn't much into which this "odor" could be embedded.

As banal as the scent comes across, as light as it is, it is not wearable for me. Now I am curious how other users perceive this Aura. I graciously decline.

Close your eyes and for the fatherland!
Aura as a bottle really turned me off; it looks like a limited edition of Contradiction, and the little sparkle on the cap doesn’t help at all.
Aura as a fragrance was initially a shock. How can a scent marketed by a reputable distributor, and the first attempt of the luxury house Swarovski in the fragrance sector, smell so squeaky fruity? After my first test, I stumbled out of the store as if I had been hit on the head by a medium-sized melon, and it was only at home that I regained my senses. During the second test, at home, sitting down and surrounded by several pillows to cushion any falls, I didn’t interpret the top note as melon anymore, but rather very, very artificially fruity, artificially sweet, not for the faint of stomach, and not necessarily resembling lychee. But I persevered, and you have to with this fragrance. My favorite saying is
"Sometimes you have to wade through the shit to see the sunshine" (kindly translated: Sometimes you have to go through the sewer to reach the sun). And it’s the same here; the seemingly hours-long lasting top note makes way for a pleasant, though not overwhelmingly new, floral-fruity scent, no longer sweet, slightly gourmand, fresher than expected after the fruit cocktail with Assugrin, with a slight invigorating sharpness.
A bit like smelling salts after an overdose of fruit punch.

Headache candidate, too heavy, too inappropriate. Somehow "too old" for me. Reminds me a bit of YR's Evidence, so it's a no-go!

Glad I waited! A flop in summer, but top in winter! But the closure: I've rarely encountered something so silly and awkward! Annoying!

Any floral mix, a bit of rose and a lot of Ambroxan. Lychee follows. Fades + bland-synthetic. It's okay, could be worse.

I loved this perfume and wore it every day. Very floral and elegant. The bottle with the large Swarovski stone was a real eye-catcher.

A nice fruity, floral perfume with good longevity! More suited for young girls or for work, etc.

Stick to what you know!
A scent that isn't really a scent anymore - rosy, watery with a hint of sweetness.
Unnecessary!
