Signature Potential

In search of the countless Aventus dupes, I came across Swiss Arabian - Shawq. Until now, I only knew their Shaghaf Oud Abyad, which goes in a completely different direction. The price is outstanding, sometimes available for under 20 euros for 100ml. In Dubai, it would probably be even cheaper. That's really a shame; Dubai is my number one vacation destination, I've been there four times in the last 8 years, but I've never bought perfumes. That will change next time.

The bottle has an extraordinary design. I was a bit surprised, as the bottle didn't arrive completely full. However, I can rule out a fake from this seller, especially since it was also wrapped in foil.

First spray - Hallelujah, there it is, the sought-after pineapple-heavy Aventus copy. You can even smell a bit of smoke, and the smoky pineapple is the part of the Aventus DNA that I love so much. I felt I had reached the end of my search. My new signature scent. I also sprayed it on a piece of paper to compare the longevity, which is average (which for an Aventus dupe is already above average). Unfortunately, the smoke fades quite quickly in the heart note. What remains is the sweet pineapple, which lasts for a good while. So, a somewhat monotonous dry down, not much left of Aventus. That is the major weak point. Therefore, the best application possibility is layering. I already tried it with La Rive Black Creek, which creates a good composition, though La Rive is naturally weaker. It would probably work better with Afnan Supremacy Silver, which I like very much. L'Aventure would be an interesting experiment. Maybe Shawq can tone down the citrus heaviness and the too harsh top note a bit. I don't know Club de Nuit Intense yet. However, it should complement well, as it apparently lacks the pineapple. Insurrection is too weak and would be completely dominated. It might even be suitable for balancing out a smokier batch of the original Aventus.

So, I give a clear recommendation to buy, especially if you, like me, are particularly fond of the pineapple in the Aventus DNA.

Layering is a great idea! I have Club de Nuit Intense Man and Al Haramain L'Aventure, of course also Shawq. I'm curious to see how it turns out!
