I understand the Fierce/Percival comparisons, but I get a much more modern, citrusy Platinum Egoiste. A modern fougere!

But Fierce and Percival are considered modern versions of Platinum Egoiste...

I think the link between Platinum Egoiste and Percival is Fierce. Percival has only a little left of PL, I agree with you. Especially the strong lavender note connects the two. I feel that Walaa smells just like Percival. Very modern, floral, ambroxan-heavy, and somewhat sweet too. I really like all the mentioned fragrances equally.

Yes, I've noticed that too. However, I personally find the differences between Platinum Egoiste and Percival quite striking. The scents may roughly go in the same direction, but I hardly smell anything Fougere in Percival anymore. It’s more of a typical modern "blue" shower gel scent with a pronounced Ambroxan base, citrus notes, and a peppery spiciness, plus a hint of mass-appealing vanilla/tonka sweetness.
Platinum Egoiste, on the other hand, smells much more like a barbershop, aftershave, herbs, with a metallic character.
One could see Walaa as a link between both worlds, although in my opinion, it leans more towards the latter, classically styled scents.
