The unpleasant pleasant
This fragrance is the kind that can reach to you or.. it can seem boring. The smell is pleasant but generic in the same time. That's why it may seem boring to many people. Citrusy & floral, that's how I see it. Also a tad bit woody.
Bright, crisp and refreshing but also with some depth. I've tried it on VERY cold temperatures and even if the projection disappeared quite fast, on the skin it still lasted quite well.
The more you wear it, the more sense it makes and you'll establish a better relation with it as the time passes. It's the kind of a fragrance that can easily be appreciated if you ask me, I've seen this already.

Versatility ? I guess Spring & Summer mainly and also Fall. Winter can be too much to fight with.
Dates, formal, casual, fun times.. these can be easily check.
The floral & citrusy components makes it easy to bloom and shine among the noses.
Price ? A correct price, not too cheap, not too expensive. Mid-range.

Performance ? At least decent. Lasting power is quite good (7-8 hours) and the sillage is more than average. Pretty decent. It will be noticed for sure, it's not that shy.

I see it as a unisex fragrance even if it's slightly more masculine to my nose. The presentation is also decent, heavy bottle with a good sprayer. Very heavy & metallic cap.
I am very curious about the other ones from the collection, I might buy some of its brothers & sisters in the future. As far as the resemblance with the Percival, I cannot tell much, haven't tried that PDM yet.

Overall : 7.1/10

The Arabic Percival with Long Lasting Power
How did I come to this fragrance?
In 2016, I accidentally stumbled into the dark grotto of an Abercrombie & Fitch store on Königsallee in Düsseldorf and checked out the offerings.
What can I say, H&M on steroids, the darkness was probably meant to make the quality of the clothing appear in a more forgiving light. OK, where is the exit? On the way there, I knew what was lingering in the back of my mind - what smells so good here?
Then I discovered the perfume display at the checkout and tried Fierce. Great, I thought, a bit synthetic but good. Since I was already 46 at the time and still in decent shape, I couldn't bring myself to buy it because of the, let's say, boyish design of the bottle featuring a young six-pack. Honestly, who wants to deal with inferiority complexes during their morning spray routine?

Then I stumbled upon this great platform through research and discovered the slightly more mature alternative from CHANEL. The Platinum Egoiste accompanied me for about 5 years as my signature scent and always fit well.
What I missed, however, was the unfortunately somewhat selfishly short performance of the CHANEL.

About a year ago, after successfully surviving the pandemic, I unfortunately caught the Parfumo virus, which led me to the Percival by Parfums de Marly in a Breuninger shopping temple.
Yes, the scent was a hit and even better and deeper than my Egoiste Platinum!
The performance was also fitting. What didn’t fit so well was the ambitious price (RRP 230 euros/125ml). For a "freshie," that's quite a lot.
No matter, I thought, and followed the wise advice of an old friend who said, "Always live first class, otherwise your heirs will."
So I ordered it online for about 165 euros on sale and have been happy ever since. You don’t need to write novels about the quality of PDM, it is really good and the bottles are very high quality! I love the Percival and also appreciate my Godolphin and Pegasus.
The Percival is, for me, a universal "go-to" and together with the Blue from CHANEL, surely also a "crowd-pleaser".

Now to the Walaa.
By the way, what a name....
Mispronounced, it means - I swear to God :-)
Correctly pronounced, it means "preference".

About a month ago, I came across a video on YouTube by a fragrance fan living in the Emirates, who introduced various Arabic alternatives to well-known brands from the Western world and believed that some even surpassed their longevity.
The Swiss Arabian Walaa was then quickly ordered as a blind buy for 62 euros (50ml).

The Arabic stallion indeed has more stamina and gallops 2 more rounds than the French one.
In a direct comparison after spraying, I can notice a minimal difference between the two, which is no longer perceptible after 10 minutes.
You can tell with both horses that they are getting the best feed!

Apparently, the feed for the Arab is imported from the land of precisely ticking clocks, hence the name Swiss Arabian.
This means that with the Walaa, the ingredients smell very, very high quality and are in no way inferior to the PDM.

The bottle is certainly a matter of taste. One thing is clear - the manufacturing of the cap, in terms of metal processing, is certainly just as elaborate and high quality as with the Percival.
The box is also more elaborately designed than with the French one.

Conclusion - the Walaa is a clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates this scent DNA.
With the Walaa, you save some euros compared to the PDM and have slightly better longevity.

Concentrated Spicy Fougère Freshness!
Yes, how powerful is THIS one? An "oriental" Fougère with "Swiss herb freshness," and the Swiss didn't even invent it! Here I stand in the forest at the foot of the Matterhorn, while Mediterranean citrus warmth adds to the mix alongside oriental spices like coriander, next to forest violets and herbal lavender.
And this "concentrated burst of fresh power" lasts a long time and remains very present! I even dare to claim that "Walaa," when applied sparingly, smells EVEN more diverse than when generously sprayed. Simply because one can absorb many more fragrance notes in a slower temporal flow.
For me, it belongs to those scents that have preserved the "classic basic structure," yet still incorporate many beautiful, quirky, independent notes.
"Not bad," said the woodpecker, as he "hammered" into the fir tree trunk and fell into the violet-studded ivy thicket. "It smells devilishly great"!!
"Exactly"!! replies the hiker, "almost like at the foot of the Matterhorn and sprinkled with coriander"! I agree with both of them! ;-))

It may not get much attention, but for me, it's a slightly more premium version of Percival with great performance at an unbeatable price.

Fresh, citrusy, herbal, woody - as a Hedione junkie, I naturally like it. Fits in the barbershop, so I see it more for men.

Great fresh everyday scent. Lightly woody oriental. A super price-performance ratio for a niche fragrance. Sillage is also very strong.

If Walaa and MB Legend were a beautiful picture/photo, Walaa would be the sharp one, Legend the pixelated/blurry one.

I understand the Fierce/Percival comparisons, but I get a much more modern, citrusy Platinum Egoiste. A modern fougere!
