KUWAIT I A fragrance inspired by the diverse coastal and desert landscape of Kuwait
The next review is dedicated to "Kuwait | Taif Al-Emarat / طيف الإمارات" from the GCC collection by Taif Al-Emarat. A fragrance that is truly exciting, as it aims to take the wearer through the multifaceted life of Kuwait; from the coast to the desert. Does the fragrance succeed in this?
Let's get into it: - "Kuwait | Taif Al-Emarat / طيف الإمارات" opens with a spicy-fresh combo of rosemary and cardamom, and yes, the latter is prominent. The invigorating rosemary already evokes the feeling of a cool sea breeze, winds at the coast, while the cardamom beautifully envelops the whole and gives the fragrance sharpness and aroma. Pear as a fragrance note? I wouldn't know how that should smell, but I suspect it is this subtly perceptible mineral-aquatic accord that gently swims along in the opening. Very soon, however, the sweetness of tonka bean joins in and rounds off the opening.
- Saffron and jasmine as a combination are very exciting and give the fragrance a warm, sweet-spicy-floral depth that somehow smells creamy underneath and brings a certain lightness.
- After that, we move inland towards the desert and yes, you can slightly smell the oud in a rather woody way; subtly held in check by a beautiful, resinous-dry amber and a light sweetness coming from the vanilla.
- The longevity of the fragrance is really very good, definitely in the upper third, and the projection is also impressive, definitely high up.
Overall, "Kuwait | Taif Al-Emarat / طيف الإمارات" is a beautiful interpretation of the country, which at first really reminds one of coastal winds and then moves into the interior, working with different ingredients and implementing them wonderfully.
