KUWAIT I A fragrance inspired by the multifaceted coastal and desert landscape of Kuwait
The next review is dedicated to Kuwait from the GCC collection by Taif Al-Emarat. A fragrance that is really exciting, because it pursues the idea of taking the wearer through the multifaceted life of Kuwait; from the coast to the desert. Will the fragrance succeed?
Let's get into it:
- The Kuwait starts with a spicy-fresh combo of rosemary and cardamom, and yes, the latter is present. The invigorating rosemary already evokes the feeling of a cool sea breeze, winds on the coast, whereas the cardamom envelops the whole thing beautifully and gives the fragrance spiciness and aroma. Pearl as a fragrance note? I wouldn't know what it smells like, but I suspect it is this subtly perceptible mineral-aquatic accord that floats discreetly in the opening. However, the sweetness of the tonka bean enters very quickly and rounds off the opening.
- The combination of saffron and jasmine is very exciting and lends the fragrance a warm, sweet-spicy-floral depth, which has a subliminal creamy scent and brings in a certain lightness.
- We then move inland towards the desert and yes, you can marginally smell the oud here in a rather woody way; discreetly held in the frame by a beautiful, resinous-dry amber and a slight sweetness that comes from the vanilla
- The longevity of the fragrance is really very good, definitely in the top third and the projection is also impressive, definitely way up there.
Overall, the Kuwait is a beautiful interpretation of the country, which at the beginning really reminds somewhere of coastal winds and then moves inland and thus works with different ingredients, which also converts them great.
