Chique Taylor of London Concentrated Cologne

I can see him clearly: The Tailor of London!
Equipped with measuring tape, tailor's chalk, and a pin cushion on his wrist, he fits his work precisely.

The beautiful scent "Chique" from this brand also appears tailor-made.
(Once again, dear Theresa has delighted me with a sample: Thank you - I am thrilled with what I get to discover.)
Here, a crisp green floral chypre in the form of a concentrated cologne seems to be perfectly tailored to me!
Although, looking at the pyramid (a habit of mine due to allergies) reveals: I already know all these fragrance notes from so many creations, what could be new about "Chique"?
And yet it shows once again: A drop more of this, a drop less of that, perhaps shaken a little longer or stirred in a different direction, and these well-known fragrance components create something entirely different from what was expected.

"Chique" is different: Greener, sparkling due to aldehydes in the opening, and significantly more austere and green than anticipated.
For the aromas of lush, damp moss cushions and a slightly dirty animalic note from the base do not unpleasantly push forward on my skin; however, their pronounced presence alters the usual impression, the fragrance note structure that the term "chypre" embodies.
But so be it!
The floral bouquet representing the heart note is beautifully arranged and again in a classic style.
Noble-scented roses, in a variety of shapes and colors, are woven into a seemingly white "cascade of purity and virginity" of lily of the valley and jasmine blossoms.
"The seemingly so white purity": We all know how sensual and sometimes breathtakingly cloying, yes even "stinky (quote: Meggi!), these white flowers can develop.
However, in "Chique," they seem very young, shining in a cool, slightly green-tinged white: The intoxicating, numbing maturity is missing, and thus they can well underline the first impression of "English understatement."
Nothing here is aimed at pure seduction; style with a hint of severity already dominates.
A bit of lightness from the honey aroma of ylang-ylang and a touch of the slender, elegant iris with its powdery scent lighten up the still somewhat austere, but quite pleasant fragrance progression.
Thus, in this straightforward fragrance tailor costume, there is also room for femininity.
Moss and a certain dirty, albeit quite pleasant animalic note from earthy-dark patchouli were already encountered at the opening; now they are in their rightful place (in the base note), where grayish-white musk and the woody spiciness of cedar, together with the outliers, herald a fitting, harmonious finale.
Balanced sillage and exceptionally long-lasting wear are a guarantee (even on my rather cool skin!) that all well-measured fragrance notes unite into a well-tailored garment:

"Chique" is "très chic," without falling out of the elegant frame for which this scent seems to be created.
A sense of style and business do not exclude each other in this composition.
(By the way, I can also imagine "Chique" well on a gentleman who prefers classic styles.)

A very green chypre that I like right away, even with the first spray.

Because, chic he is, that can be said without hesitation. The initially "aldehydic soapy" scent has quickly dissipated (for my taste, almost too quickly) and now makes way for, how should I put it, mossy little flowers, flowery moss, a wonder fragrance because it is very complex; sometimes I smell rose, then it seems that the rosy aspect is not so prominent, rather the lily of the valley and the tireless jasmine, which apparently is present in almost all of my fragrances, yes I love him.

This scent is, although VERY affordable, by no means a cheap little water, and as for the longevity, I am overwhelmed because it really lasts longer than 5 hours on my "old skin," which says a lot.

I find it smells very elegant, a bit like how the "better classes" used to smell.

In our town, there is a castle that is sometimes inhabited. Now and then, the noble "highborn" are there, and you can "visit" them in the castle park.
Once or twice a year, summer concerts are held there, and as children, we always hung around to admire the spectacle. The fine gentlemen in even finer attire, the ladies in their beautiful dresses, and it smelled so wonderful.

Primarily from the lilac bushes or lime blossoms, but it was a lovely scent mixture of the various perfumes in the air, and CHIQUE somehow reminds me of that.
Spicy, cheerful, elegant, and a little bit wicked, I like THAT.
