completely different than expected
I was actually prepared for something much more rustic before I sprayed on "Tweed": for example, wide, harvested fields, horses, riders and packs of dogs.
Also on the Laird, who reads the newspaper in front of the large fireplace in his manor house in the evening, a glass of whisky beside him. Of course, he wears an indestructible tweed jacket, perhaps even with leather patches on the elbows.
But my expectations were pleasantly disappointed.
And I should have known better than to indulge in such mind games.
After all, Rosamunde Pilcher had written extensively in one of her novels about the "tweed mills" in the north of England and Scotland in particular, their history and their long tradition.
Also about their journey away from the classic heavy fabrics that last a lifetime and towards modern tailoring.
After all, a company should flourish and you can't do that with a "perennial favorite" that accompanies you through your entire adult life.
But despite all the adaptations, a tweed wardrobe is timeless and stylish.
After "Chique", the brand "Taylor of London" also surprises me with its Parfum de Toilette called "Tweed".
With its citrusy, basil-spiced glow, a very wearable chypre fragrance with an aromatic honey heart welcomes me warmly and clings to me without being sticky.
In this golden, creamy honey fragrance, we find the familiar and widespread aromas of floral beauties such as lavender, jasmine, roses, violets and rose geranium, which have been diligently visited by bees.
This is complemented by the dark fragrance fabric of the base, rich in deep woody-smoky notes, earthy, a little animalic and dusted with cocoa.
Beeswax also ensures a good fragrance fit here and stylishly completes this creation.
After initially expecting a robust blend that would be more suited to horse and rider, this cuddly companion for slightly cooler, gray days really inspires me.
The "Taylor of London" brand also found the right fit for this: "Tweed" as a fragrance lives up to the well-known fabric and its name.
I'm really looking forward to a closer, longer relationship; the right season is sure to come.
