Bargain blind buy begets beautiful bouquet

I ordered this after seeing it on sale from an online vendor. As a (bio)chemist, I'm easily swayed by anything that alluded to my field and Ted Baker's line of precious metals instantly caught my eye.

The packaging is simple, but effective; copper colour reflected on the box and the lid, with a black bottle.

First spray and a very fresh citrusy smell (think grapefruit; fortunately it never veers into cleaning product territory) with some sort of oceanic undertones. Very fresh, but with some subtle spicy and woody notes, that grow as it stays. Three hours in, a warm cedar, a touch of smoke, some patchouli stays in. A metallic note remains throughout, but it's not at all unpleasant (think the smell of... Well.. copper coins)

The smell does wear off (if, like me, you're economical about sprays) after 5-6 hours.

For me it has been a great choice for the start of autumn on a work day. By the time I'm home, it's very much gone, but I can reach for another scent if going for a night out.
