The God of Good Ointments

As I approached the primordial waters, unaware, there was nothing but a clove-like mist, a swirl of spicy fresh flakes in muted green coloring the light in the land of the pyramids with a scent of Gudang Garam.
Then Nefertem, the god of good ointments and fragrances, emerged like a lotus blossom in the spicy sweet, dark aromatic primordial waters, exuding purity in the velvety juices of Styrax, Labdanum, and Amyris, shimmering sporadically in pale blue beneath the warm amber hues, increasingly moderating the mist of cloves that veiled the surface, blending myrrh and cinnamon into the haze that drifted like incense on the waters of Memphis.
Finally, I saw sandalwoods gently melting in the creeping streams, forming small creamy eddies amidst the warm semi-silken resins under the spicy balsamic mists of the Nile, of Nun, and of the nose of Ra.
***
"Nefertum" is a typical fragrance from the Australian manufacturer "Teone Reinthal Natural Perfume," which produces in small batches of 3 to 5 liters using only natural raw materials, and thus can vary depending on seasonal conditions. However, these variations are not only accepted but are also highlighted and emphasized. The fragrance is typical in that it is both (initially) bitter green spicy and (increasingly) balsamic dark resinous, quite edgy and somewhat smoky. Teone's perfumes are never light but always special. "Nefertum" enchants the nose of Ra for a good seven to eight hours with moderate projection.

(With thanks to Verbena)

Sounds like Feuerzangenbowle. No, I don't need to test it.

A god of balms must feel really good sometimes. Sounds like a healing scent ;-) but too much clove probably wouldn't be for me right now…

That sounds very exclusive and special. A scent you’ve described so charmingly, which seems to be truly unique olfactorily. I enjoyed reading this a lot, and I would love to experience it!

If only the scents had the same quality as your descriptions... God, what a fantastic comment this is again.
I will test the fragrance; it contains so many ingredients that I really appreciate.

For me, it's hard to imagine a perfume like that - but the world of the gods might be quite different! ;)

Strange. Where does the clove come from that reveals itself to you so insistently like a mist? It's not listed in the fragrance pyramid. Whatever. Not a scent for me. Way too heavy. Besides, this is probably a perfume that you can only get in Australia or not at all. And I'm not that much of a seeker of lost niches. ;-)
Clove mist trophy...

Your story about the god of good balms and fragrances is beautiful as always. And lotus, spicy, smoky, and balsamic sounds very tempting. Off to the land of the pharaohs!

I can already see this will be the next big batch discussion. Which batch is the anointed one (or the Anointed) :-D

As an Egypt fan, this definitely has to go on the list. I always find it interesting to see if one can evoke the past of the pharaohs... your comment really sets the mood for that!

Wonderful as always! With natural ingredients, the longevity is usually lacking, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Great!

I even gave it 0.5 more than you did, because I really liked it too, even though it has a lot of resins and smoke. Great brand!

A really exciting brand! However, this one probably isn't for me.
And here, batch discussions would definitely be justified :)

I can picture the primal waters. And the creations by Ms. Reinthal really seem to be something special. I totally understand that there can be variations when using pure natural ingredients, but I would accept that. The scent definitely seems interesting to me.

A few years ago, I ordered a bottle of "Naiad" from Bud Parfums in Australia. It was just recently restocked. It smelled just like my sample, which I was really happy about. I got caught out with the batches of "Embruns d'Ambre" from Stéphanie de Saint-Aignan, but luckily I was able to exchange it. One batch was way too herbal for me. I don't think I'd like "Nefertum," and I don't like to be surprised (only positively), but your comment is great!

Thanks for this trip to the Nile! Australia already has a special place in my heart, but too much clove is probably not for me. I’ll definitely have to remember the brand, though...

I really like clove. But is it spicy with cinnamon and bitter green, and later dark resinous? Also, I'm going to Google what Amyris smells like and what it is.

Also a selling point:
Every little bottle is different.

I often struggle with cloves too. I don't really like wearing clove scents myself. Still, another charming comment from you that I enjoyed reading.

Oh... clove in fragrances is a tricky thing. Too much is yuck... But when it fits just right, a scent like that is great...

I'm interested in that. I'm actually looking forward to more moderate temperatures to try out scents like these.
