Free Fall

I stand at the edge of perception, the cliffs of reality.
Sharpened are the senses like an eagle.
Balsamic depth shines in the firmament.
The abyss before me - resinous, sweet, and velvety soft.
I let myself fall and drift, staggering and losing my grip.
Wood-soaked veils full of surreal psychedelic emotion.
Blurring reality, enchanting and intoxicating at the same time.
A carved reality that never existed and never will.
Succumbing to the fallacy of creamy illusion, desirable and so full of hope.
Deep blue light shimmers from the hoped-for world.
On mystical paths to me
It reaches me flickering and pure
Clarified shall my innermost self now be
For just as transience
Is a tear on the cheek of time
Gives sandy dust and warm amber
Once again much hope to the radiant being

Carved Oud represents for me an extremely exciting olfactory modification to OW. Even though the souls of both compositions have the same aesthetic origin, Carved Oud offers a certain tendency towards the oriental "desert scent"!

*carved thanks to NuiWhakakore for the test*

The brand hasn't been for me so far, but I've never smelled this one. After your comment, though, it seems like it's time to try it. Well written! :)

Beautifully described! I'm not a huge fan of OW, but the Carved Oud does sound really nice.

At the highest lyrical level, hats off! Carved Oud is the first oud fragrance that has convinced me, so I guess I should give the OW a try too...

That sounds like enthusiasm. And contemplation in a desert fantasy.

Great and expressive description. This scent probably isn't for me, but fragrances can't appeal to everyone. I'm glad it resonated with you.

Yes, that's how you can indulge in fragrances! You've conveyed the scent beautifully in your words. It sounds really good. I quite liked Oud Wood, but this one sounds even better.

I liked it better than OW, somehow more mature. Nice comment.

Sounds good... Blue as a color and not as a state is perfect *g*

I'm describing the scent beautifully now - it smells like Oud Wood by Tom Ford.

Beautifully described. Sometimes you just want to immerse yourself in a scent. However, if Carved Oud is similar to Oud Wood, I can skip the test. It didn't resonate with me.
