Fruity sweet and strong florals

I've had my fair share of lychee perfumes I've had the chance to test. When I saw this one being leaked on Instagram, I was curious and eager to get my nose on it. I've tested a few The 7 Virtues offerings and always though they were simple, but lovely to wear. I even have a discontinued full bottle of perfume from them in my collection, so I was pretty confident in blind-buying a travel size.

I have to say, it really has strong projection compared to their other fragrances. Like really, really strong. Used my boyfriend to gauge the projection and I could smell him one room over. It has a nice opening of fruits. Tart and citrusy orange with an undertone of lychee. The thing is... Lychee unfortunately gets immediately crushed beneath the florals when they arrive. The perfume shouldn't be named Candied Lychee, but rather Candied Florals. Geranium and peonies take up all the place. They're sweet, almost sugary, with a distinctive fruity facet that reminded me of roses. They also have a powdery, almost jellybean-like quality to it. For awhile, during the transition between middle notes and bottom notes, I almost got a fresher accord of florals with a small facet of synthetic aspect. After that, the drydown strangely returns to lychee as I get a syrupy, almost nectar-like accord of lychee which reminded me a bit of Manakara. Sweet, sirupy and fruity with a hint of vanilla underneath it all. This is probably the highlight of the scent. Florals are finally subdued in place of the lychee which was supposed to be the star from the beginning.

It defintely has BBW vibes. A bit more on the younger side. It's youthful, playful, fun and simple. If you love fruity, floral (especially geranium and peonies) perfumes with a distinctive feminine-lean, then this one could very well be up your alley. Unfortunately for me, the florals are way too strong and the sweetness is, at times, a bit overpowering. It's still lovely and a strong contender in their collection, but if you're in for the lychee aspect, you might be a little bit disapointed.
