Urban Archeology

Build an Destroy is the result of Azzis colaboration with James Lavelle for the Meltdown Festival 2014. James had the honor to curate Melt '14. His approach was to depict the diversity and creative history of London from the perspective of the creatives and artists. Both, his own 40th birthday and the 21th anniversary of his label Mo'Wax, coincided in this year. Lavelle succeeded many well-known artists before him as curator, such as Yoko Ono, Nick Cave and David Bowie. During the ten-day festival, music from different directions came together as well as exhibitions of contemporary arts.

So it was only given that Lavell and Glasser also worked creatively together and created Build and Destroy as a limited edition for the label's anniversary in 2014. Amongst other things, the Mo'Wax theme for the festival, "Urban Archeology", was implemented here.

Certainly one of the reasons why the fragrance radiates something industrial-technical. It smells of concrete and asphalt, of the dust of the metropolis - but also of a form of creativity. Poured into a fragrance.

Some memories of S&X (of the same house) occur, which also play wonderfully with the human component, but is in itself passionate and dark - yes, mysterious. These chords can be found in Build and Destroy too. Here supplemented by the aspect of the odor of London.

Urban archeology is a concept of art that aims to depict the history of art and, above all, the last 21 years in the course of time, culture, but also tastes.

In 2018, the 25th anniversary of Mo'Wax, Azzi and James revisited the 2014 Melt theme and reissued their fragrance in 100 limited edition bottles.

A real recommendation for fans of dry, almost technical incense who want to feel the soul of creative London on their skin.
