Interesting Facts

Luxury jewelry and specialty retailer "Tiffany & Co (also known as Tiffany or Tiffany's) is synonymous with class, style, and charm. The label is one of the oldest and most notable companies in the industry alongside Cartier and Bvlgari.

The foundation for this success was laid by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young, who sold stationery and fancy goods at their first venture store in Manhattan in 1837. A few years later, the collection was expanded to include silver jewelry and pocket watches. This led to a massive increase in the sale of gold and silver jewelry in 1845. 1848 was one of the most notable years for "Tiffany" because the label introduced Swiss watches, diamonds, and jewelry into its collections for the first time.

The company signed more contracts with high-end watch and jewelry manufacturers and was therefore able to expand worldwide from the late 19th century. In addition, Tiffany's unique selling points were the blue gift box and even the solitaire setting for diamond rings. The company's jewelry experts revolutionized the manufacture and processing of jewelry through newly developed processes (irradiation, dyeing, bleaching, etc.).

However, royalty, celebrities, and emerging Hollywood also played a role in the smashing success story of the 20th century. Among the select clientele of "Tiffany" were, for example, Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, several European royal families, Jacqueline Kennedy, and also Audrey Hepburn.

The brand's website carries the entire collection, from fine jewelry and high-quality watches to luxurious accessories (eyewear, tableware, leather goods, etc.) and fine fragrances.
