Is it really just a dupe?

I'm currently wearing a sweater that still smells of burdèl; I sprayed it on my wrist 3 days ago to compare or test 2 or 3 fragrances, as I often do :) And the perfume is still very noticeable on the sweater. I do this from time to time with all kinds of scents and samples I have.

But how does Burdèl smell?

Opening.

Shortly after spraying, it smells as wonderful as hardly anything else. Bergamot, fresh spices, a bit cool, lightly sweet, and in the background, those woody notes. It already strongly reminds me of "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff"; the oud remains woody, dry, clean, and never goes in a barn-like or dirty direction. Thus, even oud newcomers will enjoy this scent. You immediately notice the high concentration of the perfume; it leaves an oily film on the skin.

The opening is, for me, the most beautiful part.

A solid 10.

The further development.

The freshness and fruitiness slowly fade into the background, and the woody and spicy notes come to the forefront. However, Burdèl always has this fresh bergamot in the scent development, at least on me. And this is exactly what distinguishes it from "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff".
Together with vanilla, a slight sweetness comes in, but it's beautifully done. Very elegant, yet sexy. Never intrusive or too much of a good thing, although the performance is truly convincing. The delicious lemon cake description fits it well, as many describe.

This perfume is almost perfectly balanced.

A 9

Drydown

In the drydown, it only changes marginally. It remains woody, slightly fruity, sweet, and above all, sexy. It radiates something that I find very attractive and erotic, especially in the drydown.
You keep smelling your arm; at least, that's how it is for me :) It could be the cardamom with vanilla and the oud that makes it so delicious.

Conclusion.

Burdèl clearly reminds one of "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff"
(provided, of course, you know the XerJoff) :D

However, wearing both simultaneously allows you to recognize the differences better.
For me, it is more masculine, fruitier, and fresher, thus having that certain extra that I felt was missing in AlexII.
It is not a dupe, but rather a new interpretation or further development. The similarity doesn’t bother me; I am, of course, more than satisfied with it, as you can gather from my review :)

The XerJoff is a wonderful perfume. And I love the scent. Nevertheless, TT has managed to improve an almost perfect scent with Burdèl. Personally, that was exactly what I felt was missing in Alex.

If you own Alex, you don’t need to rush out to buy Burdèl. With Alex, you have a unisex classic that will always be special.
People who didn’t like AlexII will also not like Burdèl. They are too similar.

The bottle is beautiful, the sprayer average, the presentation excellent.
The price on sale is unbeatable. (Please don’t pay €390 for it)

Performance well above average.
Almost wearable all year round; in too warm temperatures, I would recommend something else.

Unisex - masculine.
Age from 25 - XX
Disco, bar, restaurant, or whatever. Almost always wearable.

For sports or grocery shopping, it is too fine and special; better to take something lighter and cheaper for that :)

It will probably never become as popular as "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff", but those who can discover it will certainly not regret it :)

Thank you for reading

Best regards, Deniz
