Hale Bopp Tiziana Terenzi 2019

Hale Bopp is a comet that we probably won’t see again on Earth until 4419. My grandma used to say, if I’m still alive then. Surely none of us will be, and this Hale Bopp will likely be forgotten by then.

There was also a cult - they called themselves Heavens Gate. The followers believed there was a spaceship behind Hale Bopp. They committed suicide, hoping to be picked up by the spaceship and reach a higher level of consciousness. Some men were even castrated to live particularly ascetically.

I’m not really into astronomy and astrology - gastronomy is more my thing. But when I read Tiziana Terenzi, that changes abruptly. I’ve decided to test all the fragrances from the Terenzi universe.

In my mind, this scent feels like a dense fog and is also a bit harsh due to the lemon. But this comet becomes smoother and softer. I like the mix of rose, vanilla, and patchouli. A bit of cinnamon and nutmeg rounds it all off. I don’t smell sage at all. It somewhat reminds me of Coromandel because I also perceive it as slightly powdery.

I’m not a big fan of labdanum. If the note comes through too strongly, I don’t like it. With some fragrances, I can overlook that or accept it, but not here.
