Chlor in the Hotel Room
My very first review is dedicated to the scent I fell in love with when it was first released and a sample was included with my order. It was love at first sniff, as I can still vividly remember what went through my mind at that moment and the feeling that washed over me.
Anyone who has ever booked a hotel or vacation online might know this anticipation. Especially when it looks incredibly amazing in the pictures. Perhaps I was just ready for a vacation at that time. That feeling when you arrive at your holiday destination, see the hotel for the first time, and recall all the pictures you studied beforehand. That feeling when you are assigned a room, are escorted there, wait excitedly in front of the door, and wonder if it is as wonderful as you expected. The door opens, and a scent fills my nose. This room smells clean, freshly aired mixed with tropical air and high humidity. And I smell chlorine. The room was exactly as I imagined it.
Even though Metalique has nothing to do with chlorine, perhaps it is this metallic note that gives me this scent association. Although metal usually conveys a feeling of coldness, this fragrance gives me warmth; I feel cozy, comfortable, and somehow special. Just like I feel in the hotel room.
