Mama's Treasure from the Galeria
Indeed, my mom still has a remaining bottle of this rarity. Once tested, she was immediately in love. Of course, I bought her a bottle the next day. Powdery, spicy retro scent that gains intensity with each year of aging. I can smell Ylang Ylang and rose the strongest. Vetiver adds a woody spiciness. Those who like fragrances such as Obelisk, Poeme, and Dune will also love this one. Coriander and cinnamon are not present here, so it might be too powdery-rosy for Obsession fans. Well, mom likes it, but I'm currently feeling short of breath.

After Rain Comes Sunshine
Fragrances are often like diaries. They contain moods, emotions, images, landscapes, weather... and much more.
I tested this beautiful scent today at "Galeria Kaufhof," one that inexplicably passed me by until now.
"Doriane" is affordable, but by no means a "cheap perfume," and certainly not a "mainstream scent."
It has a very distinct personality and is hardly comparable to any other fragrance.
The closest I can think of is "Bois des Iles" by Chanel, which is much woodier.
I only mean the fragrance direction of "Doriane."
The scent "starts" with a spicy-warm citrus note that somehow reminds me of a late summer day.
When the flowers follow (I recognize rose and ylang-ylang, and something herb-fresh-floral that I don't know), the morning of the late summer day turns into "noon," and a fresh breeze picks up.
Thick clouds are piling up on the horizon, light gray but not appearing threatening.
A summer thunderstorm is approaching, sending its olfactory harbingers.
Spicy, damp, slightly cool.......
Soft rumbling, getting a bit louder... at greater intervals...
Then it starts to rain. Not a downpour, more like a gentle drizzle, like country rain.
The scents of the surroundings spread even more, as if the flowers were exhaling...
After an hour, the sun slowly begins to reappear, first timidly, then clearly and warmly. Pleasantly warm.
Now the aromas of woods and grass join in.
Gently announcing autumn.
Doriane is not a "simple" fragrance; it is mature, complex, without being "confusing."
And at no time does it become overpowering, but radiates a good-natured, elevated, almost "wise" calm.
All with good longevity and sillage.

When the English lady accidentally wandered into the drugstore...
I just noticed that Doriane doesn't have a comment yet. And I think that's unfair to this fragrance.
I spontaneously sprayed Doriane while passing by in a department store or drugstore and found it so beautiful that I bought it afterwards. Since then, I use it rarely but regularly when it fits my mood.

The top note initially comes off as somewhat old-fashioned; at first, I notice alcohol, and there isn't much citrus to be felt, but quickly Doriane develops a charmingly unique character, not particularly striking, but very fine and balanced.

Is that pineapple now? I don't recognize any pineapple, but I do notice the ginger. It gives this delicate fruity-floral top note something slightly unusual, spicy. I like that!

The fragrance quickly becomes warmer; the old-fashioned aspect fades quickly, and a powdery, light, understated sweetness emerges, not in candy colors, but in pastels.

What does cotton blossom smell like? Apparently very good. Because what now comes to the forefront is not rose; I sense its hint, yes, but only in the background. It's not jasmine either; it's even more subtle. Ylang-ylang is definitely present, but that's not all.

The base note is carried by amber and vanilla, but over that lies something truly wonderful that eludes my description. It's not really floral, but also not really fruity, more like something in between, as if all the components of the top and heart notes have merged into something entirely new that is noble and anything but banal.

On my skin, Doriane becomes a warm, slightly sweet, subtly elegant fragrance. In the best sense, ladylike.

For me, it exudes the aura of a woman who, due to her life experience and her rather elevated role, has found an inner calm and composure.
It's not the young woman who can be emotionally stirred to the highest excitement by any event, whether positive or negative. No, the woman who wears this fragrance knows at least two things:
First, her position, which gives her a certain weight.
And second, that usually nothing turns out as badly as one fears, nor as wonderfully as one hopes.

This attitude brings the wearer to an inner freedom. Freedom from roles, freedom of thought, freedom for true feelings. But not thoughtlessly. This attitude is not flashy. It is authentic. That is what makes this fragrance special.

In this respect, Doriane has a certain maturity that may seem a bit old to some.
Additionally, for my nose, the ingredients smell very natural, which may also seem antiquated in the age of synthetic fragrance bombs.
I don't find Doriane antiquated; for me, it is more the fine English way.

And if this fine English lady accidentally wandered into the drugstore, she would smile and overlook it: Such is life!

Herb-sweet floral scent, finely nuanced, with a subtle woody base. NOT A COMMON FRAGRANCE.
Mature and unique, very long-lasting. Affordable quality.

Great retro scent! It’s somewhat reminiscent of "Montaigne," "Tabu," "Obelisk,"... at a very fine price!

It really hits hard. The full force of flowers and blossoms - a bit old-school 90s. I like it.

I don't like the fruity top note at all. It reminds me of Poeme. Too much lady for me.

Very spicy, floral, and vintage! Not something I would wear, but I love to smell it. It reminds me of the past.
