I have always kept a wide berth from the fashion of Tommy Hilfiger. Perhaps one or another piece of clothing would have appealed to me, but I apparently had an innate aversion and never wanted to look like everyone else.
The same was true for the fragrances. Many years ago in a perfume shop, I was sprayed with Tommy Girl, and I must say, the Freshly-Showered-And-Clean scent did appeal to me, but for the reasons mentioned above, I did not pursue the Tommy Hilfiger brand any further.
What can I say! Now everything is different! Tommy Girl is a member of my collection. How much I enjoy "Freshly-Showered-And-Clean" on certain days!
But to top it all off, I also tested Eau de Prep Tommy Girl. And like a lovesick teenager, I couldn't separate my nose from my forearm, walking in this awkward position to buy this fragrance right away.
Eau de Prep is also a "Freshly-Showered-And-Clean candidate," starting off fruity fresh with apple and pear and a light pepper note that doesn't scratch or bite. The violet leaf, hawthorn, and rose soon make the scent fresh and floral, without completely overshadowing the fruits. The musk is likely responsible for the special creaminess, and I can distinctly smell the sandalwood.
Eau de Prep remains creamy, fresh, and light. A buoyant scent that, due to the woody note, is somewhat more expressive for me than Tommy Girl. The longevity is actually quite good for me. Eau de Prep is not an overpowering fragrance, yet it is clearly noticeable. We have both received many kind compliments.
Perhaps it's a question of age, perhaps of self-confidence - I am glad that I now bravely dare to test and spray. How many little treasures have I discovered, just because I now "stick my nose everywhere"!
Unfortunately, you can only give one trophy per comment. But just the title of this wonderful comment deserves at least five trophies! Luckily, my pre-readers have been busy too! :-)
I completely agree with Palonera's first sentence, it's wonderfully liberating! Although I really can't wear most "department store" fragrances anymore, not out of vanity or a desire for status, but because my nose has been "spoiled" by higher quality scents.
Getting older has its definite advantages: You care less about your own prejudices. Some Hilfiger pieces are really great because they are timeless and fit well - you just have to give Tommy a chance, :-).
Shower trophy :)!
Nice that you managed to overcome that.
I find the fragrance name just as terrible as most of the clothes from the same brand, but the description sounds great!
That sounds interesting ;-D. I didn't mind the original Tommy Girl back in the day, but I haven't seen this one anywhere, hmm. Fresh trophy for the clean comment!
A compliment-catching trophy. Your comment sounds interesting. I used to be bolder than I am today, confidently spritzing myself with fragrances. Now I’m much more considerate of the people around me. I don’t want to annoy anyone with any scent.
I just imagined you waddling to the perfume shop like the Hunchback of Notre Dame - haha! Otherwise, thank you for effectively challenging my prejudices against Hilfiger. Chuckle trophy!
Sometimes you have to step off the beaten fragrance path to discover wonderful new scents that seem completely out of character for you. This applies to us slightly older fish too :-)
Nice that you managed to overcome that.

Trophy!!!
