Eau de Prep Tommy Girl Tommy Hilfiger 2011

"Eau de Prep" was a blind buy because there was no tester and the apple note plus the price (15 Euro for 100ML) was a good enough reason for me to jump into the preppy pool with both feet ; )

The first spray is very yummy and has a fresh apple note that gets quickly teamed up with a pepper note --pink pepper is sweet rather than spicy-- and as such it's a wonderful mix of apple fresh with sweet pepper and a faint rose - all this lands on a dry down of musk and sandalwood notes. The middle stage has a very gourmand feel to it; I smell a chocolate vibe in this and it reminds me a bit of "5th Avenue Nights" which has a wonderful chocolate note throughout thats heavily in love with a creamy vanilla, but Eau de Prep has apple & pepper notes to give the chocolate vibe more of a spicy / fruity edge. About an hour later the pepper gets slightly more spicy and the apple is virtually gone, leaving you with a musk / pepper skin scent that is pleasant but very light.

I like Eau de Prep and my only complaints is that its longevity is seriously lacking! I have to reapply quite often to get the thrill of that first apple / sweet pepper combo. If the longevity were much better and the apple note were more pronounced to increase that apple fresh feeling, I would probably reach for this quite often. But since it is very fleeting all I can say is....luckily I have 100ML to (re)spray it with reckless abandon.

It's a cute scent for casual daytime wear and all those times you want to smell yummy in a gourmand and close to the skin manner. It's inoffensive and suitable for work and as a bed scent but I wouldn't wear this for an evening out or to a special occasion.

Silage is: apple and sweet pepper with a dash of florals on a bed of musk - Longevity is: 2+ hours in which the pepper becomes more spicy and lays close on the skin cuddling a musk note.

I love Tommy Girl, and found a full size bottle of this flanker for cheap. I'm entranced. Green apple and violets dusted with sugar; sweet, velvety summer roses; warm sandalwood. This could have been called "Tommy Girl: Nights." It's cozy and yummy.

In spite of being a Tommy Girl flanker, and sharing a few notes (rose, sandalwood, violet) it's not too similar; more a complementary bestie who fits well beside TG than a sibling with the same DNA.

The top notes have a clean fruitiness in common, and the base notes are equally comfy, but Eau de Prep is darker, sweeter and more mature. Still feels very 90's to me, in spite of being launched in 2011, which isn't bad at all just go into it with that in mind. If Tommy Girl is a pure casual day perfume -- the bright, sunny, cool tomboy next door -- then Eau de Prep is when that girl puts on a dress for prom. Like, we're talking a front slit, lace maxi sheath, paired with combat boots, a chunky, piece-y updo, and butterfly clips. Still too-cool-for-you, but a bit more femme; it's a vibe.

The violet + musk actually reminds me a bit of Lolita Lempicka. Somewhere between original Tommy Girl's youthful androgyny and Lolita's adult femininity is where Eau de Prep comfortably sits, I think.

..... you spray yourself without hesitation!

I have always kept a wide berth from the fashion of Tommy Hilfiger. Perhaps one or another piece of clothing would have appealed to me, but I apparently had an innate aversion and never wanted to look like everyone else.

The same was true for the fragrances. Many years ago in a perfume shop, I was sprayed with Tommy Girl, and I must say, the Freshly-Showered-And-Clean scent did appeal to me, but for the reasons mentioned above, I did not pursue the Tommy Hilfiger brand any further.

What can I say! Now everything is different!
Tommy Girl is a member of my collection. How much I enjoy "Freshly-Showered-And-Clean" on certain days!

But to top it all off, I also tested Eau de Prep Tommy Girl. And like a lovesick teenager, I couldn't separate my nose from my forearm, walking in this awkward position to buy this fragrance right away.

Eau de Prep is also a "Freshly-Showered-And-Clean candidate," starting off fruity fresh with apple and pear and a light pepper note that doesn't scratch or bite.
The violet leaf, hawthorn, and rose soon make the scent fresh and floral, without completely overshadowing the fruits. The musk is likely responsible for the special creaminess, and I can distinctly smell the sandalwood.

Eau de Prep remains creamy, fresh, and light. A buoyant scent that, due to the woody note, is somewhat more expressive for me than Tommy Girl. The longevity is actually quite good for me. Eau de Prep is not an overpowering fragrance, yet it is clearly noticeable. We have both received many kind compliments.

Perhaps it's a question of age, perhaps of self-confidence - I am glad that I now bravely dare to test and spray. How many little treasures have I discovered, just because I now "stick my nose everywhere"!

Today, on St. Nicholas Day, I lit an Advent candle and passionately played Christmas songs on the piano.

When I reached "Niklaus komm in unser Haus," my husband excitedly called me into the hallway - I should check my boots.

And indeed, a little red box, Eau de Prep, and a cute plush crocodile were sticking out of my ankle boot!

St. Nicholas is a wise man and seems to know my taste well.
If there had been a book included, he would have covered all my hobbies - but my boots are too small.

Delighted, I sprayed the fragrance, and my joy grew even more.
Hmm, a delicious scent of apple and pear surrounds me, spiced with a pinch of pepper.
This fits perfectly into the pre-Christmas season.
Along with the elegant white rose, which adds freshness.
A touch of patchouli gives depth and richness.
But the best comes last - a spoonful of mild honey.

The fragrance is full of surprises - just like this St. Nicholas evening.

I must have been good, as St. Nicholas has been so kind to me.

Cheerfully, I play "Lasst uns froh und munter sein" on the piano - and wink gratefully at the nice St. Nicholas accomplice.

This fragrance convinced me from the very beginning!
I became aware of it through a test page in a women's magazine. I was immediately captivated by this scent and knew I had to have it. So I went to every perfume shop in my city and had to find out that they do not carry this fragrance yet. I ordered the scent online, without really knowing how it would smell on my skin. When it arrived, I was thrilled. Not only the packaging but also the bottle looks elegant and preppy. The fragrance was even better than I had imagined from the tester in the magazine.
The scent is fresh and sporty, yet also elegant and classic. Ladylike but not exaggerated, light and simply preppy.
