Sea Foam by Torrid
I wasn’t a huge fragrance user as a teenager, and only got my first perfume from Torrid in 2019 (Sea Foam). I am now in my late twenties, and unfortunately, this scent has been discontinued!
I rarely use perfume, but after getting this one, it’s my favorite of the four I own. I’m a big fan of fruity and floral scents, and this is the most perfect balance!
I tried my best to do research on this, but I couldn’t find any description for this scent except for peony. I would say it’s youthful (but not too youthful), and says femininity and sweetness to me. To me, it initially smells very floral, then delves into what I can only describe as an ocean-like scent (obviously perfect for a Princess Ariel scent - whoever made this did a wonderful job).
From my limited scent knowledge, I would say the top notes are peony and another light flower (maybe jasmine?). The middle notes are more “ocean-ey,” and I think I might be smelling water lily. The base notes I’m really not sure - they smell mellow, but not overly sweet to me, I think this might be amber. There’s definitely something fruity somewhere in there too. It’s a feminine, light, sweet scent. I love it.
I thought that maybe Burberry Her Eau de Parfum was a good replacement for this (it has dark berries, jasmine, and musk-amber notes), but this one fades into a much more rich amber/vanilla-type scent after a few hours, which I’m not the biggest fan of. Still a great fragrance if you like a deep scent after a few hours, though! I still have yet to find a solid replacement for Sea Foam, but hopefully this review and the description of the notes might help someone!
Torrid did a fantastic job with this scent, but it’s unfortunately not to be found anymore. So I would absolutely recommend Sea Foam (if it was still manufactured), but I’m guessing Torrid won’t bring it back.
Rest In Peace, Sea Foam! Thanks for being my fantastic first perfume!
