The One that Got Away.... ToT
I've never smelled Father Figure, but if it smells anything like Guilty as Fig, I may have to give it a try. When I first smelled the body lotion at BBW, I got a distinct smell of watery body odor. I thought fig was going to be one of my ~death notes~. Later that week I found out I had an ear infection that made everything smell bad to me. That was a painful realization. When I went back, I gave Guilty as Fig a try and it smelled beautiful and complex. Unlike most scents at BBW, this is not overly sweet, and surprisingly complex.
The Fig note is slightly sweet and earthy and the jasmine brings a layer of creaminess. The musk settles nicely on the skin and lingers for a while. It's soft enough to wear to the office or everyday. I'm also happy with it's performance in warm to very hot weather, even though I prefer it in transitional seasons. It's slightly feminine, but no overtly girlish. Men can comfortably wear this, but they ay find the heavy jasmine girlish. It's not the typical scent profile for Bath & Body Works but it still has that mass-appealing quality that most of their scents have. If your store has it, I would try this and let it develop on the skin. It's worth your while.
I'm incredibly satisfied with the EDP concentration as well as the Fine Fragrance Mist. The quality was unheard of for Bath and Body Works. I hope it comes back one day... Now that this scent has been discontinued, I'm contemplating Phlur Father Figure to see if it'll scratch my figgy itch long term.
