Mini Pink Ulric de Varens

Have you ever looked at old school photos and thought, "I looked like THAT?!" Went through a phase that is now rather embarrassing in terms of styling? Yes, the minis generally fit into that category quite well, as they were often quite popular during the school years of those now in their twenties. Mousse makeup that suited almost no one and Ed Hardy as well, and with that, hardly anyone would dare to leave the house anymore. So how does Mini Pink fare?

I myself owned Mini Love and Mini Sexy at 12. I only became aware of Mini Pink through Parfumo. Caramel, vanilla, and heliotrope sounded tempting, and eventually, the bottle was heavily discounted, so why not... Something affordable is always suitable for home fragrance. Still, it's hard to overlook the assumption that this perfume is more for teenagers. Why? Because during the test, I felt transported back a decade in time!

Mini Pink is, like a teenager, a bit rebellious, perhaps not exactly stylish, but definitely unique. The scent notes suggest a caramel candy, yet in reality, you get something quite different. It's definitely sweet; between vanilla and heliotrope, there's a note that pushes itself to the forefront for me, which isn't even listed... Maybe I'm also anosmic, but I think I can perceive lavender. Yes, just a teenager wanting to be different from the others but still wanting to be liked by peers. But does that make the perfume good?

Certainly, it’s not a treasure in the collection and it doesn’t smell extremely high-quality either. On the other hand, at such a price, it doesn't really make sense to complain about quality and performance. Because of the associations I have when spraying it, I can't give it a bad rating. Maybe you wouldn't necessarily consider Mini Pink as an everyday scent, but if you ever feel the need to be transported back to a time when you read Bravo and slathered yourself in strawberry lip gloss, it’s definitely worth a thought.
