Luxury Fairground

Yet another gem in the drugstore shelf (and unfortunately also discontinued): the most delicious temptation that has come my way from Monsieur de Varens.

A crazily beautiful gourmand that manages without a heavy base. There is a lot of vanilla, an almost liqueur-like sweetness, and flowers and wood are not distinctly noticeable, but rather contribute to making French Sweets a perfume. Although it truly smells so delicious that one almost wants to eat or drink it. Caramelized fruits set the tone and skillfully blend with the dense, sweet notes. It smells a bit like a candy stand at the fair.

However, it is not a sugary mess, but rather, as is often the case with UdV, smells very refined, very noble, very high-quality. No one is overwhelmed by a vanilla club; rather, French Sweets is a delicate, dense, and at the same time diffuse gourmand that remains warm and sensual, staying close to the skin. And there, it smells delicious enough to nibble on.

I was able to snag this really delicious scent yesterday at our S.... store, which is closing on June 30, 2012. I don't like other scents that smell like a fair, but this one is really fine and elegant!

I agree with every word! The scent is like a delicate web of spun sugar, so soft and warm and rich. It's a shame it's been discontinued! (I managed to snag a bottle by chance last week *yay*)

It's just not a star perfume, so it's probably uninteresting for most drugstore customers :-((((( And the perfumeries don't bother with this price range. Varens could actually sell their fragrances for much more...

I have to agree with Fran and Antoine here. The scent is definitely more high-quality to my nose than some expensive designer fragrances.

It's a shame that this series released in 2008 is hardly available in Germany anymore, while many really awful drugstore scents stick around on the shelves for much longer...
