I was once again visiting one of my favorite perfume shops and mainly wanted to smell Bois Dore again, as it has been on my wish list for some time, and since there is unfortunately no Van Cleef and Arpels in Regensburg, I took the opportunity to test them all. I actually liked all three: The Amara, Neroli Amara, but especially Santal Blanc.
The name could indeed be somewhat misleading, as I find that the scent doesn't necessarily smell strongly of sandalwood. The fragrance starts with a well-perceptible fig milk with a few sprinkles of very fine almonds in it. The scent is extremely creamy and a wonderful combination of all the fragrance notes. The longer the scent sits on the skin and envelops you, the more the sandalwood comes to the fore. It is super creamy and beautifully blended with the green milk note. I was immediately taken by it, as the three main notes are three of my absolute favorite notes.
The fragrance must be tested on the skin, as it truly unfolds its full magic there. I also think that if you like scents like Fig by Arquinesia or the note of sandalwood, it is a safe blind buy.
The longevity on my skin is also quite good; I can perceive it like a beautiful aura. The sillage is therefore really good without ever becoming too much. Wearing it makes me feel like a beautiful, delicate, warm-hearted woman who knows who she is. For me, it's a great signature scent!
Addendum:
You really have to be in the mood for the scent, as it has a slightly sour note that can sometimes clash and remind one of sour pickles. Overall, it’s a super beautiful green milky sandalwood scent, but for me, a decant is sufficient.

Beautifully and aptly described .... On my skin, it definitely develops in a more masculine direction.

I'm glad to hear that! Skin chemistry really makes a difference with fragrances. On me, it's super feminine and almost maternal.
