On the Hunt for Forest Scents
Acqua di Selva smells like it's from another time, which is indeed true. Based on the comments here, I actually expected to experience a really woody fragrance. However, the top note reminded me more of a herbal schnapps with a lot of lemon. Overall, the lemon scent dominates the first few minutes, and the sillage is initially quite pronounced.
Unfortunately, the fragrance does fade quite quickly, and the heart or base notes come through in the form of vetiver, pine, and rosemary. Afterwards, a distinct cedar scent remains that appears slightly smoky and beautifully "dirty."
Since the fragrance is available as an Eau de Cologne, it might be advisable to use several more sprays than usual (10 + X), but unfortunately, the spray head is not very efficient - it pumps relatively little of the fragrance into the atmosphere and leaks.
As already described here, one can expect a Mediterranean but only very lightly woody scent with a lot of lemon. In my opinion, Acqua di Selva ranks last behind "One Man Show," Polo, Jules, Krizia Uomo, and Weidmanns Heil. I see Jacomo de Jacomo as having a distinctly different scent and therefore not a direct forest fragrance but a very nice representative for oakmoss lovers.
For older retro lovers, Dali pour Homme is also recommended if they enjoy the blend of oakmoss with hay notes and vanilla smoke.
Unfortunately, my fragrance experience was over after just about 30 minutes; on clothing, the EDC lasts a few hours, but it is only detectable from a very short distance.
Pine and cedar smell wonderful together, but unfortunately, the sillage is very weak. There are fragrances with a significantly better price-performance ratio.

The longevity and especially the sillage have always been weak, but the composition is all the more beautiful.
