This smells nearly identical to Phlur Vanilla Skin and DKNY Cashmere & Vanilla Essence. I have all three and while they are sooooo similar, Bare Sueded Vanilla is slightly sweeter. I’ve found that I don’t really like it on its own because of the sweetness, but it works really well layered on top of deeper sandalwood perfumes. Right now I am wearing it on Guerlain Samsara EDP and I smell like super sophisticated sugar cookies. It also works well on This Is Him! by Zadig & Voltaire. It just needs a richer base to elevate it.
It is nothing like anything else in the Bare line. I haven’t liked any of them, they all have an off putting siliva type of scent to me, Sueded Vanilla however does not have whatever note causes that for me.
While this works great in cool weather, it is horrible in the heat. Turns into a heavy soured vanilla milk that makes me nauseous.
All in all, this is a mass appealing, creamy, woody vanilla at a decent price. I don’t understand the current hype as this scent already existed, but it is easily obtainable and affordable and you can’t fault it for that.
