...and that is, that she is now making high-quality fragrances. I stumbled upon a short video on YouTube by chance, which was about new trends in the perfume world. The conversation turned to this new scent from the Victoria's Secret Bare line. Milk notes are currently the hottest trend, so it seems like every niche brand has already released a milk fragrance. So it’s no surprise that cheaper brands are following suit, although "cheap" might be a bit of a stretch in this case. I don’t find the line particularly inexpensive, especially since I only know VS as a brand that produces overpriced lingerie and body sprays. So my curiosity got the better of me, and I ordered a travel size of 7 ml, which costs about 22 euros (quite a lot for such a small size), as it is not yet available in Germany.
When it finally arrived a short time later, I sprayed it with low expectations and was...positively surprised. At first, it smells very typical of the VS DNA, which I think is also present in all body sprays. Lightly sweet warm vanilla. But here it smells quite elegant and very pleasant. Not the best vanilla I’ve ever smelled, but also nothing I would underestimate (
Black Tie Eau de Parfum is still, for me, alongside "Orchidée Vanille | Van Cleef & Arpels," the most beautiful vanilla scent in the world). Now I must say that I only learned to love vanilla scents quite late. I always thought I wouldn’t like vanilla, but I had to realize that I just don’t like cheap vanilla.
Bare Sueded Vanilla Eau de Parfum initially smells like a gentle vanilla, with the saffron remaining very subtle in the background, so you can hardly perceive it, but that’s a good thing, as it rounds out the vanilla very well. The longer it sits, the milkier the scent becomes, but in a very pleasant way, allowing the woody notes and musk to emerge as well. The sillage is, of course, not particularly high, as is the case with many scents of this type. Creamy fragrances are usually relatively close to the skin, and I find that this one (thankfully) cannot be over-sprayed. It is certainly noticeable, and I even layer it with other fragrances. I would estimate the longevity at 2-4 hours. On hair and clothing, perhaps a bit longer.
All in all, I think this is a very good fragrance that, from my perspective, you wouldn’t expect from VS (at least I didn’t). The price is a tad too high for what it is. However, it is definitely a perfume that you can buy very well and without hesitation blind. Wearable in any season and also in the office. It smells elegant, sweet without the headache factor that body sprays have, and it smells significantly more refined. If you’re interested, get the travel size (the bottle was surprisingly heavy and of high quality). In fact, I’m considering buying it in a larger bottle because it is really very wearable.
