Natural smelling myrrh
Apart from a honeyed, fruity (almost berried) topnote not present in the original, the reissue of Eau d’Iparie remains mostly the same as before – a very natural-smelling, balsamic myrrh fragrance that sets the myrrh in an outdoors context rather than in the typically dark, Gothic-churchy one.

The honeyed radiance of myrrh resin predominates at first, but soon, the scent shakes off this cozy mantle in favor of a flinty minerality, which smells to me very much like water running over moss-covered stones in a stream. With its unpretentious, earthy demeanor, Eau d’Iparie is the type of non-perfumey perfume that smells good to people for whom fragrance is a secondary ‘grooming’ thing rather than a full-on obsession.

Not like the discontinued version
I tested this "reloaded" Eau d'Iparie this morning and I must remark a few things:
Spicy and peppery notes are perceivable, but not as much as in the old version.
Patchouli and frankincense notes (that I remember strong in the first version) now are only suggested .
I didn't smell the sweetness of the myrrh.
So, a very light cologne and not at all the glorious perfume I had in mind.
The bottle too is new, maybe more modern and with a clean design, but I miss the old one.
What I smelled is surely a pleasant scent, but the sillage is weak and the longevity not as good as the old version's one. This is a damage because the price for a 75ml unique size is high .
R.I.P. my beloved Eau d'Iparie "old style"...but times and tastes change .

Parties....
... i used to Love to party in the old days
Heartbeat, i used to have one of them too

With these lines, my current favorite song by the Irish singer CMAT, a duet with the singer John Grant, begins.

Now, what does this have to do with the fragrance Eau D'Iparie by L'Occitane? For me, both evoke a similar mood within me. In this case, it’s a certain melancholy.

In contrast to Eau D'Iparie, which I find appealing, the song "Where are your Kids tonight" doesn't quite resonate with me. The song has country elements, which I don't particularly like, but the melody and the lyrics immediately captivated me, just like the fragrance did.

Eau D'Iparie is from a time when L'Occitane still had great fragrances in their lineup, in my opinion. Unfortunately, the brand has also succumbed to the randomness of the mass market, and I have completely lost interest in the brand.

Eau D'Iparie was and is not a fragrance for the masses, as it possesses a certain degree of uniqueness.

The scent starts bright and spicy floral green. Neither pepper nor peonies make sense to me here.

Over time, it becomes more rosy, but somehow cool and serious. At the same time, a wonderful accord of incense and patchouli picks up considerable momentum for my nose.
In this stage, the fragrance remains for a long time before it becomes a bit earthier and softer in the dry down.

The longevity corresponds to that of a catchy tune, as once applied, it accompanies me for an entire day.
The sillage depends on the dosage. However, for my taste, a restrained dose is advantageous here.

I prefer to wear Eau D'Iparie in the autumn. Even if that sounds cliché, the melancholy of the fragrance fits my mood best during that time.

Unfortunately, the series was discontinued some time ago.

And now I will indulge in the great song by CMAT once again.

"Licking my Lips and doing crimes....

Addendum: As I have learned, the series has apparently been reintroduced by L'Occitane. The fragrance is now available in 50 ml instead of 100 ml.
Pleasant, I think.

This is not Seventies patchouli-hippie bliss, but a green-floral, subtly earthy patch that’s also suitable for the opera.

Green, prickly leaves roll in exuberantly shimmering patchouli. Dark at the base, silver-bright at the top.

Wonderful green-fresh, slightly sour flora with a patch that softens even skeptics like me. For Madame or even Monsieur.

Herb-fresh-spicy-herbaceous-strong. Not very feminine, but definitely wearable by women too. My daughter says: 'But only by older ones.'

Honey-sweet peony on pansy or without lily of the valley ;) white roses with a brutal amount of patchouli :) chaotic.. base is nice.

For me, it's a bitter-piquant citrus on a sweet resinous-balsamic base. In a bright, soft, light form. Delicate floral-woody integration.

A very subtle interpretation of frankincense, myrrh, and patchouli - pleasant, almost wearable year-round, unisex, and (gently) warm.

Behaves fresh, more of a dry rose and an earthy dry base that hardly develops any sweetness. Stiff from start to finish.

Starts herbal, peppery, almost sharp. Remains herbal-earthy, but becomes nicer over time with rose and violet, though still quite unlovely.
