A familiar outlier
Sketch has a very different personality to other Maison Violet scents; it gives out an assertive aura and demands to be noticed. The scent opens up like a floral and sweet army; it marches towards you and grabs all your senses. Meanwhile, a citrusy sparkle or pepper-like spiciness pops up from here and there. Gradually, the floral smell calms down and relents its forceful nature, and blends in with the spice note. Lastly, tonka bean comes onto the stage, addes a slice of elegance to the otherwise lively only experience.
I have Gran Soir as my winter signature, and particularly like its dry down (tonka bean). Not surprisingly, it is also the part that I enjoyed Sketch the most. However, there are distinct differences between the two. Gran Soir is more harmonious and refined, and Sketch comes across as rebellious and doesn't shy away from showing its personality.
I like Sketch for its non-conventional characteristics, and can see myself coming back to it in the future.
