Very helpful Review
Fortunately, or 'Unfortunately' too close to the original London?
Well, the Widian London is and remains my holy grail and the undisputed number 1.
For this reason, I was obviously incredibly excited about this release. Especially since the bottle is truly magnificent. 10/10!
And of course, it is hard to nearly impossible to make THE perfect scent even better or to do it justice. However, Jordi Fernandez is capable of anything. Who knows, maybe he would have succeeded.
So I ordered a sample and sprayed it on. First impression: Hmm somehow exactly the same. Maybe here and there a tiny bit greener, fresher, spicier. But hardly noticeable. What a shame! I really wished that this "flanker" would come with a bit of variation. The color would have fit. The green notes could have been much stronger! I wished for it so much. Even though, in case of doubt, it will of course (for me) score worse than its predecessor. I would have forgiven him for that. As it stands, apart from the beautiful bottle, it is unfortunately a somewhat unnecessary release for me. Unfortunately, not enough courage was shown here. They simply didn't want to disappoint the fans. I can understand that, and as I said, it is almost impossible to make London better. But a bit more willingness to experiment would have really been welcome here!
Nevertheless, of course, a 10/10 since it is too close to the original.

But it sounds a bit disappointing if it's almost identical to the original, as you mentioned... :-/
I've talked to a few people, and some said it smells quite different. For me, though, it's just a nuance.
Barely worth mentioning. I'll just stick with my well-aged original :)
