London in the green emerald: one of the few Harrods that convince...
Widian is one of the houses that is quite convincing with its range and quality; the London Extrait de Parfum in particular is a showpiece that demonstrates how a beautiful oriental can be suitable for everyday use. I was all the more excited about the London Harrods Exclusive. At the same time, however, I wanted to lower my expectations, because many Harrods exclusives are simply only worth their money to a limited extent, just think of Lufu or some Rojas, which are really not worth their money with the best will in the world. Well, opinions are subjective, but now it's primarily about the London Harrods Exclusive - what does it smell like and is the fragrance worth it if you have the London Extrait de Parfum?
Let's get into it:
- The fragrance starts really intensely; the juniper berry is clearly perceptible and, together with the pepper, produces a really full, almost cool clarity that goes hand in hand with the spiciness of the pepper. Very dense, intense and different from the London Extrait de Parfum, which has the raspberry much more in the foreground and not this spicy-cool. The raspberry is also present here, but for me it comes later in the fragrance; however, it is less sweet, but rather earthy-green due to the patch with a good woody base. Yes, the fragrance smells much greener than London Extrait de Parfum without losing its character completely.
- As the fragrance progresses, the subtle oud comes to the fore with the incense and leather; the green earthiness remains in the fragrance and the raspberry recedes a little into the background. Towards the end, a little sweetness balances the fragrance and it remains on this base... and lasts, and lasts...
- The sillage is really great! There is definitely nothing to complain about; the longevity is also impressive, in my opinion more powerful than the London Extrait de Parfum and far "denser".
To summarize:
- The London Harrods Exclusive is less sweet-ledgy-raspberry, but rather green-earthy-ledgy and spicy with a slightly sweet twist only in the drydown compared to the London Extrait de Parfum
- The fragrance is far denser and more intense; a London Extrait de Parfum can be worn more in everyday life; the London Harrods Exclusive is more special, more challenging and also more exciting.
In this respect, yes, it is a complementary fragrance and yes, it was worth it for me... but guys, I'm not the norm here either, don't get me wrong :)
