Aqua Velva was a standard in the barbershop; part of the company's promotion and merchandising was through the clip joints, very clever.
AV is a bright, lively, fresh, invigorating scent that lifts the spirits, makes you feel great.
There's quite a complex blend of top, heart and base notes here -- much more intricate a fragrance than you might expect. The perfumer sure knew what he was doing to attract and keep a youthful clientele.
The fruity, menthol, slightly minty start is the big refresher, the icy edge. Then comes the powerful woody middle, with a musky, leathery finish. Terrific!
Even after several decades, I still keep a bottle of AV on hand to splash on now and then when I'm in a nostalgic mood. There's nothing else quite like it. Yup -- I'm an Aqua Velva man !
