Open your nose and close your eyes! Quiet fragrance - great discovery
It is not only always amazing when, how and where you get to know a fragrance, but also how you perceive it, what it triggers and whether you then take it to your heart (or nose ;-).
If it can't usually be loud enough - in terms of advertising, hype, fragrance, presentation, reviews (especially on social media) - sometimes it's the quiet sounds that are really special.
Red Velvet by Womo is a 'quiet' fragrance.
Freshly applied, you might think you've put on a mild fragrance and immediately think about spraying it on again. But this fragrance really needs attention, so keep your nose to the ground and your eyes closed! Despite decades of intensive study of essential oils of all kinds, there are fragrances that I am not familiar with olfactorily. Mugwort is one of these: It is described as a sweet aromatic scent with notes of basil, lavender, aniseed, caraway, thyme and licorice. In fact, I can clearly detect aromatic herbs that tingle slightly in my nose.
Jasmine is very often too much for me, too narcotic, too dominant ... but here it probably softens any herbal peaks from the mugwort.
And then there is this warm, spicy, mild and yet very aromatic blend of tobacco, cistus and leather in the heart and amber, guaiac wood and patchouli (which I can still smell) in the base. Man thinks man doesn't smell. But he does - he smells! And very good and lasting. Even after a long day at work, the fragrance can be detected quietly ;-) on the wrist.
A wonderful fragrance that is suitable for all occasions and probably also for all seasons. In any case suitable for the cooler months, the fragrance triggers a summery scent association for me (possibly due to the cistus): On one or two plane exits in southern Portugal, I have noticed the scent of sun-warmed maquis.
I didn't know this fragrance or this brand either and - as is not uncommon - made a (very inexpensive) blind buy. What a great discovery!
The bottle fits: Unagitated, simple, beautiful.
